SO Moving from A PC to mac. Is is possihle to move the DIM installation/files and the content file structure from PC TO MAC (and there is the meta Database). I have seen some quazi older stabs at moving to a new machine of the same type. my search foo on the forums hasn't been very strong. If anyone has some suggestions or links for instructions to follow that would be great. I am hoping the data stucture itself is the same and its a matter oif putting it in the new machine and modifing some files. I would hate to instll everything again to 20+ directories. I plan on doing DAZStudio, Carrara and Hex. I still have to see if Reality has a mac release since this machine has no NVidia at the. moment. (Might look at eGPU later)
Thoughs would be appreciated

Seems pretty easy.
I use Daz on both my PC and Mac.
I installed Daz and DIM on my PC first and downloaded all my purchases using DIM.
I then install Daz and DIM on my Mac. Just copied the whole "DAZ 3D" folder containing the downloaded zip files under Users/Public/Public Documents on my PC and copy them to my Mac into the folder Users/Shared/DAZ 3D. DIM on the Mac should see all the downloaded assets and you can just install all the assets on the Mac.
Thanks for the re[;y hyteckit.
When you moved over did you discover a way to copy things you had installed on the PC to the MAC without having to. re-install (I have thing broken into like 20+ directories and preserve / move the database over. If not and you had to reinstall, did you have to do anything to tell DIM that the packages where not installed any longer.

Not sure what are you asking exactly. You are basically installing everything from scratch onto your Mac without having to redownload all the assets that you have already downloaded onto your PC. Obviously you would have to download the Mac version of DIM and DAZ studio. After that you are just copying all the assets downloaded to your PC to your Mac and installing all the assets again on your Mac without having to redownload everything again. I have 18GB of content. It only took less than 5 mins to install over 18GB of content. I install everything through DIM.
Your Mac maintains one CMS Postgres database and your PC maintains another CMS Postgres database.
Simpliest and easiest thing to do is "reinstall" everything on your Mac. It'll update the Mac CMS database with the correct links and metatags.
That only works if you have DIM set up to keep all the installer files. While that may be an option with your 18GB, it becomes less feasible as the data size grows (on my system, I've freed up almost 300GB by not keeping them).
I haven't moved from PC, but I have moved from one Mac to another. Download and install Studio and DIM (if you use it), copy over your content directories, point Studio to them, and reimport metadata. That should get everything working. *Note that if you have Connect content, you may need to jump through a few more hoops.
