Well since my name is on one of the items I'll respond :) I didn't do the refit for G8 version but you'll notice that all the refits are for very long dresses. If you never tried to use autofit for long dresses - it works pretty badly for anything other than a standing pose... and I suspect those dresses were popular enough for the Platinum Club that they felt it worthwhile to make available a version that will pose with G8 (which would involve a substantial amount of time to rig). This is not a new thing for the PC, they have had refits since the beginning. The artists whose name are on those outfits are not money grubs :P although personally I don't mind having a bit of money in my wallet occassionally - I just roll that way.

 

I wasn't suggesting it was for money..although people definitely should get paid for their time. I mean, if people don't want the new version, don't buy, simple as that..

I wasn't aware of the problems cause I have done standing poses on the few G3 dresses I used on G8. That's good to know why.

I also own that same Peasant Dress for G2F.  So each generation has the same dress.  In all fairness, I tried using the G2F version on G8F and then posing her and it was a mess.  Got all that weirdness around the chest and under the breasts, the shoes.....forget it.....  So for a couple bucks, I have all 3 versions just to get the fit for each one.  If it was something that wasn't a PC item, then no, I wouldn't waste the money.

And, the textures for all of the Daz Original refits work on all versions. Honestly, for the price and the time it saves me having to convert it myself, I'm not complaining.

me either.  Same for the men's version.
