Me either. I've never seen 76% off on gift cards; The best I've ever seen is 40% off and that may have been a glitch.
No, wait, I did see a glitch once where it took $10 off, instead of 10% off ; so you could buy a $10 gift certificate for 100% off.
Sorry forgot the word off. I meant 24% off ie. $76 for $100 credit.
Am I the only one who is a little bit disappointed by the current march madness sale?
I think that the discounts (especially for genesis3) were higher last year, or is my memory screwed?
Also the 20,-$ discount on daz-originals for buying several new releases seems a bit stingy (or maybe I am spoiled?). Didn't one get an item or more for free out of a selection in the past?
I hope that this isn't a sign for a general change in sales policy. One can only hope that they save the best bargains for last.
Otherwise it will be more march sadness than madness for me and I will have to keep my money
MM is totally dependent on new release purchasing, and even then the discounts aren't pariicularly aggressive. Over the weekend, I had the Darius 8 Pro Bundle in my cart for $19, but that price was contingent on my purchasing three new releases that I didn't necessarily want or need. In the end I balked and dumped the cart. I've picked up a lot of the pro bundles cheap with a lot less hoop jumping. If my expectations are for better sales and discounts, it's only because DAZ itself has trained me to be that type of customer.
Unfortunately, that is to true. It's a catch 22 situation, users want things for free or close to it, PAs want to make money off their hard work and DAZ wants/needs to grow,
I have been at DAZ for years and honestly, don't have many memories of great deals and sales events other than the old events when new figures were coming out and they had a preview thread with all the participating PAs showing off what they made for that figure. It's a shame they stopped that. Best sales event for me was last year before Xmas with the sales and the big glitch. Used to be a flash sale for 60% off was the best deal outside of the fastgrab. Now we have compliacted stacking, heavy DO discounts and to many glitches to count that have turned us into the type of consumers retailers hate, LOL
But we still keep buying, so they can't hate us that much.
Ususally the New items that trigger stacking discounts include several low priced DO items in the $3 or $4 area before discount... and maybe a couple PA items in the $6-7 area... and you can stack 2 or 3 items and be under $9... maybe under $5... to get bigger discounts. There has also been a heavy emphasis on G8 - which is carrying a premium price tag that just doesn't make sense to me. The bundles are all over the place... A couple of hairs, a couple of poses, a couple of characters, and usually a fantasy, sci-fi and every-day outfit. This seems more like a STARTER pack to me.
Now DAZ has a bunch of new Platinum Plus items that are deeply discounted - but the sales have been less than exciting.
It isn't imaginary. The sales have gotten less deep, with fewer glitches, and more complicated and expensive stacking. Generally to get the discount I'm looking I have to buy $20+ of content I'm not interested in.
Were there new releases and still new releases around or under 5$? I must admit I only looked occasionally since the beginning of the sale but the lowest I have seen were around $10 and that quenched my desire to buy something immediately.
I also hoped that there would be an increase in genesis 3 disounts after the release of the new gen8 last year, but that doesn't seem to be the case.On the contrary it seems that the discounts on genesis3 decreased.
There used to frequently be sales where at least one qualifying item would be under $4, and often that $4 item would trigger a freebie or discount on much more expensive content.
I used to buy the same item 2 or 3 times because the discount it would give was deeper than buying it again.
I haven't had the opportunity to do that since before the last Thanksgiving sale... if I recall correctly.
But, other sales have started out slowly and then picked up steam late in the cycle... so maybe this one will do the same.
They must hate me then, because I've spent about $3.88 this month.

I saw (and took advantage of
) a glitch nearly a year ago when I got 30% off. I only wish I'd had more money available to spend as I only could afford to buy $176 for $123.20 (which cost me 100 pounds sterling at the time)

Well, the answer on the ticket I sent was "We'll get back to you in a day or five" with a friendlier wording.
They also pointed me to a general faq where it says: "PC+ memberships aren't refundable"
So the "Newly Mad" item I had in my cart in case of a better answer flew out of it again.
The Newly Mad selection has been consistently PA and rather well . . . limited. Today offered only 9 products, three of which were a skin shader and related tutorial and a bundle of the two, four were connected sets of clothing and textures, one pose set and one sci-fi character. Not a whole lot to choose from. And you have to get at least one to trigger any significant discounts. The daily "themes" do more to discourage purchases than encourage. I'm hoping for a new G8 right about now just to get some fresh DO product in the mix and make things a bit more interesting.
Maybe a stupid question, but how can you buy an item twice? Items I own have no add to card button anymore, instead they are marked as purchased.
On the product's page click on the "Purchased" button and it will add it to your cart again. :)
If you click the Purchase button, it will add it to your cart regardless.

Well, I didn't know that. And I would have saved a shitload of money and got a lot more items in the past if I had.
Well, they finally put pc memberships on sale again today. I let mine lapse last month, because last year it seemed like PC+ memberships went on sale about every 4-6 weeks. The last time memberships were on sale was in mid-January, so it ended up being about 2 months between PC+ membership sales this time.
Also, last time, I grabbed PC+ for 50% off. This 30% off thing is less attractive, but better than nothing (was 30% off in January as well as I remember). Dunno if this is the 'new normal' but it it what it is.
I ended up passing on the Edward 8 pro bundle with associated freebies, but then I wasn't all that enthused about him anyways...
I missed out on 2-3 weeks of PC+ freebies, but then them's the breaks.
I'm not overly enthused about this year's March Madness so far. Might be the rose colored glasses, but last year's MM seemed a lot more exciting, what with the insane double/triple/additional? stacking discounts and all that. I ended up grabbing a LOT of stuff for cheap during March/April/May last year. 80%+ off discounts (on older stuff of course) happened a few times using the stacking discounts last year. I even remember seeing/utilizing 95%+ (with stacking) discounts on a couple of occasions for a small handful of items last year...
Again, this feels like a 'new normal' for the Daz store, and I'm underwhelmed... Who knows, maybe things will 'pick up' in the second half of the month or something. As has been pointed out in these threads, another sale is usually just around the corner.
I've spent about $100 out of a gift card I bought in anticipation of this sale, whereas this time last year I spent ten times that much. Mostly, my recent purchases were of wishlisted items, with a few new items to trigger the discounts. However, with one or two exceptions, I'm very disappointed in the very poor quality control of the new things I bought, and I'm seriously considering asking for refunds on everything. And this is supposed to be Daz's biggest sale of each year. Then again, it lets me spend more at other stores, where I've picked up some really nice characters and props.
I've used this sale to reduce my wishlist at the other places, also. I don't think that is how Daz intends this sale to go...

First off, excited to see Aiko 8 finally!
I was hoping for a similar deal where you got the previous pro bundles along with the A8 bundle, plus the orange banner discount for every previous pro bundle you might own, but... that's not the special this time.
If I had known that Daz wasn't bundling the related pro bundles with the new pro bundle releases anymore, I might have grabbed one or more of the previous Aiko bundles previously, but since I was anticipating that we'd see a similar bundling to what happened with Victoria 8, Ophelia 8, etc... well I'm back to...

The week is young, so maybe something will change, but since this deal looks similar to another recent one (i.e. discount on the addons), well...

There are no further promos on tonight's Aiko launch other than the ones listed on her sales page.
Well that's a shame. No orange banner discount for owning ALL previous Aikos? In fact, I own A4, A5, A6 and A7 pro bundles. Not even a tiny discount as incentive to get the new A8 Pro?

At first look, it appears the incentives for buying Aiko 8 are not as good as Promos for previous "8" figure Pro bundles. And the requirements to get freebies and discounts keep being moved out, (like the proverbial carrot for the donkey.) In today's sale, the best deals on Aiko and Aiko Addons come with 4 not 3 Addons purchased. (And not a free bundle in site!)
But wait!
With Aiko 8 and four addons in my cart, the discounts are showing 75-76% discounts. Aiko Pro is only 33.06 (for PC+ members) and the least expensive Addon textures are coming in at $3.66 (or $3.67) each. With this minimum cart, to get the best price on Aiko, the Grand Total is $47.72.
Okay, maybe that is mad.
And if you buy the Pro Bundle, you get another 30% off all the Related Products today.
And as @tj_1ca9500b says, Aiko is really cute.

At the top of the March Madness page it says "Owners or butyers of Edward 8 Pro Bundle get an extra 10% off all newly mad ... etc. items". I own Edward 8 Pro but I am not seeing that discount on Aiko 8 or any of her bundles, all of which are shown as newly mad items.
I did a similar shopping cart Jenga and got Aiko Pro and 4 addons down to 53,98 (I skip textures if I can do something similar with shaders I already have). If I get just Aiko herself and the 3 items in her bundle I most like/'need'/want, I'm down to 53,06, and I might drop one or two more from that. We're not even halfway through the Madness.
And yeah, I don't really need another cute female either.
