I'm not sure if my browser cache is messed up or Mega Flash 3 is glitched. I don't see any discount being applied at all.
Nope, they broke it for me too. The banner's finally up on the main page now (it was only displaying on the sale2 page earlier) but still no discounts.
They probably broke it completely when they made the change to stop the double dipping items from happening. So I guess this one will be extended which will mean we'll have these same sales in some form tomorrow, I expect.
If that is true, they have probably lost more money than if they had left the glitch in place, it was a fairly minor one given the small number of products that suffered it.
There was double dipping, as in multiple artists on the same product? I didn't see any of that personally on this sale...
I'm actually surprised that these bugs happen on a regular basis on their storefront software.
And we have the correct prices. :)
There was a very small number of products that were credited to multiple artists who both happened to be in the name ranges that were on sale, which gave a double discount. They were mostly old or a very few pieces of clothing, etc.
Personally I thought it was the most interesting thing that's happened during the entire black friday sale.
To each their own, I spend as much there as here and find the quality on par with here also. I also usually purchase characters over there since they allow for full promos and I need to see all of the poduct usually before a purchase.I was a PC member here for years, same for being a prime member over there, both had their advantages. All stores have their pros and cons
If you are a member they have a holiday drawing/take a spin going on at the moment, just won a copy of Poser 10 myself, pretty nice of them.
http://www.daz3d.com/mega-flash-sale-4 N O P Q is live
Guess that answers the two day thing. This should now run for 8 hrs then swap to R S T or whatever (5 is massive) for another 8 hrs and then the X Y Z Symbols section should round out the final 8 hours of the day. In theory.
Of course - both sites have their advantages and some will like certain things more than others. I was merely stating my experience. Also I read that Prime used to be really good but when I went to look at buying it they'd butchered it majorly and once I'd grabbed the important OOT stuff that was the end of that for me.
...just made it back home in time to get what I wanted from the "shortened" (judging from the above comments, by apparently 2 hrs 30 min before things were finally working right) I - M category before it ended.
I-M was working for about 5 1/2 hrs
Including its broken time it should be fairly close to 8hrs per category so if anyone's waiting for a specific one they should be able to roughly go off that.
There is always a possibility that they'll put everything back on, all in one go, right at the very end.
Unless they drastically cut the duration for the final three sections there shouldn't be time (I'm bad at math but 3 sections of 8hrs should be 24hrs and was for the first 3?) I could see them doing all sections for Cyber Monday though.
Yeah, there are all these crazy "holidays", when we "expect" the prices to drop. A catch-up sale coule be ideal for that.
Anyway, I could finally buy all I wanted for this year, so I'm happy. :D Thank you, DAZ! :)
All I wanted were three things from the same artist in the 'M' category. I stayed up until it appeared, and it wasn't working. I waited for a while to see if it would, but had to give in and go to bed in the end. When I got up it had gone. How running a sale during an eight hour window when you know that a large portion of of the customers you are supposed to value will be sleeping is a good idea is beyond me.
Totally agree. This sale is really badly thought out for several reasons.
I wanted something in the M section too, but I was asleep when that came round!
I wish it was only old products...... One of mine and ChevyBabes newest products turned up at 80% off, but I managed to email marketing and get it fixed...... Receiving just over a $1 in income on a product which took many many hours to create is a bit of a kick in the teeth. For many of us vendors this is our fulltime employment, then you have to factor in the exchange rate if those vendors live outside the USA. So less than 65 pence in some instances of revenue is just....... *sigh*
DAZ are only human, mistakes happen. Thankfully it was for a short while.
Congrats to the customers that managed to get the 80% bargain price.... just think of it as an added bonus.
Oh wow, that sucks, I'm sorry. I mean I'm fine with picking up some very old things at super discounts, because they've had their day and a lot of us can't always afford the full prices, but it sucks when it accidentally happens to brand new products accidentally.

Edit: Banner is up now.
I don't know about anybody else, but I've been kind of really bummed about this sale. It really bothers me to have to watch vendor after vendor go by because you can't afford to buy anything. I bought a few things, but had to borrow money to do so from the wife. Here's the problem:
1. Pa sale and Pc+ sale, 2 months back to back, which then leads pretty much right into.....
2. ......Black friday. I'm busted from the 2 former sales.
3. It's right near the 1st of the month and a lot of us have to pay rent, morgages, insurance etc out of the check we may have gotten immediately before this sale started, which is exactly my case. I was payed this past thursday (wed actually because of Thanksgiving), rent and such will be taking 90 sum-odd percent of it, pretty much left me with nothing to spend on this sale, and like I said; I borrowed from the wife what I did spend.
What REALLY burns me too, is having to watch items go by by pa's who are never on sale. There is one on sale right now (R, S, T, and U) I've been waiting a long long looooong time on because S/he never goes on sale. S/he wasn't even on sale during the pa sale. This particular vendor has expensive items too which makes it more the bad.
I know not all of us get paid at the same time, and not all of us will fall into the same situations, but I ask that all of us who do fall into this position as I have mentioned above please write daz and mention these things. There will be some PA's who won't agree but I'd like to see a much larger gap between the Pa, Pc+ sale and this type of black friday sale. This is very disheartening to have to watch items go by and you can't do anything about it. Some stuff don't matter, but there are items that just don't go on sale that often. Neither the wife nor I understand joining these sales together like this. I plan on sending a suggestion to daz on this point, those that feel the same please join me in suggesting this to daz. Speaking up is the only way to promote change.
@ HorusRa - Well, there are lots of sales; some I can take advantage of and some I can't depending on current finances; but just because I can't afford the sale is no reason to not have a sale that others may benefit from. If I can't afford something now it almost surely will be on sale again. And in this regard it is only 3 short months until March Madness during which virtually everything will be on sale for a day or more.
Don't DAZ cover the loss in such cases, since it's their fault?
" to not have a sale that others may benefit from." I never said that. I just believe that there should have been a spacing between the pc+ sale and the black fridday sale. One cannot justify moving the black friday sale because it makes sense with it being the christmas shopping season and all, but the pa/pc+ sale certainly could be pushed back just a hair, even by 2 weeks to a month would suffice. And as I said; I know other sales come around, thats not the problem, but what is is when a vendor never goes on sale but all of a sudden does during black friday. I've never seen this pa go on sale once within 8 months. Thats crappy. And before I'm made out to seemingly be the only one who feels this way, I've seen countless, countless, complaints from folks talking about sales being joined together like this, many were voiced between the interim of the pa & pc+ sale. I never think there should not be a sale just because I can't participate, I'm not selfish or heearless that way, but speaking of heartless and selfish, we all have families to buy for too right now, not just daz, add to that the fact of some of the rarer pa's being on sale right now, and well, thats kind of grim.
In all honesty, if "I" had to decide between paying bills or buying addons for my hobby, I would probably find another hobby. It's been my experience if I miss a sale another will come along and one day I will get any addon I have been waiting for at a deal. I am grateful for any sales at all, can't imagine paying full price for most of what's in my runtimes.
Deciding between paying bills or hobby? There was no deciding. Theres no decision to make. I pass wish-list items by all the time during sales because I do realise there will always be another sale, that wasn't my point. I guess when you get down to it, what bothers me, really, the most, is that some pa's never seem to be in any sales and then when they do, they come on the heels of what we just had; 2 months worth of heavy sales. Sure, I could hold back and buy nothing or very little during said sales, the whole time wishing and hoping that that very rare PA might be put on sale, but theres an old saying that says you can wish in one hand and "........" in the other and see which get filled up first. This is all a mute point and I'm being taken out of context. Fact is after argue and debate, I'm not alone. Folks can open the flood gates and support this joining of mass sales, which are joined together, or begin when rent, morgages, and insurances are due at first of the month, etc, if they'd like, but the fact is, again: there have been many more complaints of this behaviour than just my comment.
