Totally frustrated with Daz contant manager.

i finally decided to install DIM and start using it. Dowloaded it fine, started to systematically delete old productsone at a time and reinstall through dim (over 500 intems). About halfway through I decided to open daz and check on things. At this point, I had no little icons in the smart tab section. I did some research on this and did everything the literature said to do. I tried reinstalling latest version of daz, i tried totally unstialling daz and reinstalling. Nothing works. I do ctrl+alt+delete to check on daz content manager and it says it is not running. when i right click and try to start it, it says "operation could not be completed. Access denied" I do have administrator rights on my user name, so it can't be this. I don't know what else to try. I am not that computer savey. I did uninstall the daz content manager prior to reinstalling daz. Still no luck. I am out of ideas. I can still use Daz, but the icons make it easier. And please, do not give me the standard line of "clear all cookies and cache." That doesn't work either. Any suggestions are welcome.

Is there anyone out there having this problem? Am I all alone?
I believe you need to Update your MetaData as you Uninstall each Item and again after you ReInstall.
Or just Delete the CMS Database (If your not using catagories) and just Import Metadata CLEAN when you finish.
If you use Catagories you will need to follow a Tutorial by Adamr001, his links are in his sig line under any post made by Him.

DIM installs to a different location.
Did you add that location to DAZ Studio?
Its not done automatically.
When I went through the reinstalling process, I didn't have to touch the CMS or metadata.

Yes, I did change the installatioin location for daz when installing dim. The products are all being downloaded to daz and show up under the content library tab. However, under the Smart Content tab, there is absolutely nothing under files, and no icons under products. Again, when I use control+alt+delete keys, when I go to the Daz CMS, it says it has "stopped" and when I "right click" it says "access denied". When I researched this further, it said that the user needs to have "administrative status," which I do. It's not that I can't use Daz or download new items, I just have to do a lot more "clicking" under content library to locate an item rather than using smart content, products tab, and finding the picture icon,
This has been noted by some Power users, IF the Database gets corrupted it can cause the CMS to do anything from fail to fail during use. I would suggest this as your next steps. If you can get the CMS to run.
Okay, this is really, really weird. I can get the CMS to run if I activate it through the menu option. Then I check it with cntrl+alt+delete, and it says it is running. So, then I go into DAZ and there is still nothing in my smart contents. So I close Daz and then do cntrl+alt+delete and now it says CMS is "stopped." Long story short, It seems that when I go into Daz, it stops the CMS. Anyone got any ideas now?
Right click on the Task Bar to bring up Task Manager without using Ctrl+Alt+Del (also known as "three finger salute"). This way you check whats happening as Studio is running.
That sounds like your database is corrupt. Have you done custom categories? Try this first:
