I dont know why but my scenes have become really really laggy after I updated daz with the lastest version. 4.10.0.107

it behaves in the same way Daz behaves when its optimizing the textures for 3Delight when you load a scene. You know how it lags a bit as it works the textures? It's like that. Only its really laggy and it does not ever go away.

No I'm not on 3Delight render settings. I've already checked. Something is off...

I cant even navigate in a simple i13 enviroment prop... its like 5-10 FPS in the veiw port. I'm not able to use daz... It's so laggy it gives me a physical headache.

Am I alone in this?... Cause somethings wrong. This aint normal...

It's not my interface settings either. Nor is it a lack of computer power

i7 5820k

64GB ddr4 ram

GTX1080 Ti 11G

My Library is on a 1TB SSD

My computer should be able to handle 20, i13 props stacked ontop of eachother...

I had a $150.00 laptop a year ago that ran just fine with high settings this this several props loaded... So.... Whats the deal here?

If you have the Translate Tool selected and then change to the Geometry Tool I bet you that the lagginess goes away. It is a bug in DAZ Studio 4.10.x not that your scene is too complex. I have been meaning to investigate further with Very Sleepy & report to DAZ Support but they ignored my last bug report about the iRay breaking for certain combinations of iRay glass shaders, Sun & Sky, & background image so I'm not inspired to write another..

  • didnt seem to help... it helped a little but it didnt fix it.

Are you confirming that you're experiences lag too?

Try to set Display Optimization to "Best".

Yes but I go from extreme lag of a minute or two when I change the selected model in the scene tab when I have the Translate Tool selected for the Viewport to when I change to the Geometry Editor the lag is not detectable to me & so fast. And so instead of the Translate Tool in the Viewport I use the Translate & Rotate dials in the Parameters tab instead. This is on a 3rd Gen i7-3630 with 16GB RAM and a 256GB SSD that DAZ Studio is installed on. My actual DAZ content is on a 2TB Seagate Firecuda SSHD hybrid style gaming drive for laptops so not nearly as capable or fast as your computer. I am using DAZ Studio Pro Public Beta 4.10.0.118 but have used all prior viersions of 4.10.x.x DAZ Studio Pro, Public Beta & Release and they've all had the same bug. The bug didn't exist in all the 4.9.x.x DAZ Studio Pro version I used (maybe the problem was always there but the bug and the lag it causes wasn't exposed until DAZ Studio Pro 4.10.x.x series).

  • I had a similar problem when I had the Universal Tool Selected.
