Please add something to the OBJ Exporter

Could you please change the way the Wavefront OBJ Exporter names the figures it exports?

Right now every Genesis figure gets saved out as "Genesis". This creates alot of problems in most other 3D Applications because all the figures will be molded into one mesh and it requires tedious work for each export to seperate them again. There are several ways to go about it.

Please change it so that the Exporter uses the name from the scene tab instead of just "Genesis". This would fix this problem and the user doesnt always have to rename/split etc for each new exported file.

Thank you in advance!

I don't understand this as I can easliy name any exported OBJ from Daz Studio and always have. As soon as you hit Export you have the oppotunity to give your export a name.

This is not about filenames, but rather about the figure names (or mesh names would probably be the better name for it) inside of the OBJ file that gets exported.

I would have expected it to use name plus the (#) if Use Figure names was checked under Groups, but it drops the numeric identifier. That looks like a bug to me so I would report it.

You can change it yourself. The obj export uses the figure name, that the figure has in your scene (default is "Genesis"). You can change the name in the Edit-menu by choosing "Figure->Scene Identification".
