Is it possible to actually install DAZ Studio on an external hard drive? When I install it on my internal one, it goes into the Program Files folder, but my external drive doesn't have that. just wonderng if that's possible.

Yeah. You have to run the executable yourself though. Once you have the installer launched, there's an option to change the install path.
I haven't tried this, but if you're using DIM, I think you can go into the settings under the Applications tab and click the little + button at the bottom. Pick DAZ Studio, version 4.5+ and pick a path on your external drive and then install DAZ Studio with DIM. This is assuming you don't already have DAZ Studio installed.
Correction: in DIM, go to the Settings > Installation tab and set the 32-bit and/or 64-bit software paths at the top. The Applications tab just determines where plugins are installed.
