optional interactive licences - what do they mean and what are the implications

Hi gang:

I'm seeing a LOT of this in many new products. So what exactly does this mean for a NON-Professional artist like me?  Does it mean that I can STILL use the product for my own personal use as long as I a) do not sell my art

and or b) not feature my using the product on a site like say Deviantart?  It's kind of confusing and is putting a damper on me wanting to spend money here.  Does it also mean that if I DON'T purchase the licence the product won't work properly or will not show up in my renderings?  Please can someone from Daz clarify this for the non-legalese among us. Cheers and thanks

What I gather is this license does not affect any art you produce.  It's about the use of the assets in a real-time setting.   Your renders are yours and you can post them or sell them as you please.  But usage of assets in a video game or virtual environment for distribution means everyone who uses your product will have a "condensed" copy of the asset which requires extra licensing.

It will not affect anyone who is simply doing 2D art.  It is a replacement of the older game licences.

If all you do are renders and animations, then they don't apply to you.
