Why are these icons still showing?

I'm using Studio 4.9.

I installed some cool characters from renderosity.com but I used to forget how to locate them. So I began saving them as character presets. But then I decided to change the angle of the characters icon, but the old one remained. So thru my windows explorer I renamed the PNG file because I thought the duf.png was MY error when I thought to rename them the first time.

That's when the triangles appeared. I deleted the the Icons from C:\Users\....\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Presets\Characters resaved the characters and the triangles still remain.

Is there a way to remove them?

    Find them in the Content Library under categorties (right-click on the icon) and you should be able to right-click to remove refrence.

    Be aware that the Smart Content pane is not a view of your content files, it's a filtered and sorted view of a database of entries pointing to your content files. Any changes you make directly to a content file won't affect the matching database entry.
