Need help moving content folder.

Hello there comunity. :)

 

I need to move the content directory to a new HHD due to space problems. is this posible without un installing it all and re dl and install it. 

As i have a slow internet connection i really want to not having to do this.

    How did you install, DIM or Connect? Are you using DS 4.8 or 4.9. Moving the content in 4.9 is not an issue, but 4.8 and DIM are absolute path sensitive.

    i use DIM and i am using the newest daz 4,10

    OK, moving the content - as long as you set the new location as a content directory in Daz Studio - will be fine for DS. DIM< however, will still think the files are in the old location - for the most part that won't matter, you cans et teh new location for isntalaltion of new content and you can select teh option to install updates to the current location instead of the original installation location: it will be an issue only where a file should be removed by an update and not replaced, as DIM won't find it and so won't remove it.

    dropping back in to say it worked to just copy and move the content folder from documents to a new location and set daz and install manager to locate it at new place. yay thanks.
