Need help with The Harpwood Trail for Daz Studio & Mallard Pond > RESOLVED

I just bought the pair tonight, and have loaded the Mallard Pond, but it looks really skimpy compared to the product page. I'm sure I am doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what. Using the 3DL version (if that helps).

My bad ... Just for S&Gs, I did a test render. Suddenly I see grass and trees ... Weird that I couldn't see them in daz, but what matters is, it works.

Yes, those sets rely heavily on instancing. LOL

Not sure what instancing is, but long as the final suits ne needs, it worth its money.

Once you hit render, you will see.  The preview window does not show all of the plants and trees
Here's a render that I did using Harpwood Trail.

I am loving it so far. It's a little weird that I need to render to see what to do next, but the result is worth the added step.

Instancing is the ability to create multiple objects based on a single object to save on resources, such as an actual small patch of grass instanced (think duplicated) to fill a pasture, but DS is only using the resources from the small patch of grass instead of the pasture full of grass..

Very cool.  But if not visible in the daz viewport, how can the vendor tell what elements will be where while they are creating it?

There are options to enable them (can't remember where though, LOL). the main reason they are hidden is to enable a smoother viewport transition

Reason instances are turned invisible is that environments like these have tens or even hundreds of thousands of them, from trees to weeds, fallen leaves, stones & gravel etc., and if the computer attempted to draw all of them in the viewport, it'd simply grind to a halt.

However it works, ... it looks awesome. I'll post the final render here after the author approves. Thanks for the assist, guys. :)
