2x 980ti to 2x 1080ti ?

Hi there, I just thought I would ask if anyone here has updated from 2x 980ti to 2x 1080ti and if so was there any noticeable improvement in render times? I've looked at the benchmarks over at Daz and it seems to be worth it but obviously they are not on like for like computers so the results are a bit subjective.

Render times will vary but will also be improved (I've seen posts stating so, but can't remember the percentages), and of course, ones that wont fit on a 980ti but do on a 1080ti will have a vastly improved render time. :)

I've been putting it off due to W10 stealing GPU RAM.

Honestly if you already have 2 GTX 980 ti cards and do not have any issues with your scenes fitting into the VRAM for renders, don't upgrade yet.

I would save that $1400 and wait for for the 1x80 ti for the next series of Nvidia cards (Volta).  While you will see a render time improvement going from the 980 ti to the 1080ti, it won't be a big enough improvement to make it worth $700 per card.
