OOT (Out of Touch) missing hair products on Daz
I'll explain my confusion in a minute. So Llynara has a huge Hair Tutorial on Patreon that I have access to as a supporter.
She's give tips and stuff, step by step about hair.

One thing that comes up is OOT Hair as solid product.
So I check and I own A TON of that vendor's products.
But NOT the FOUNDATION PRODUCT.

It looks like DAZ is MISSING some of this vendor's products.
Is this the base product?
Doesn't make sense to have some of their products on here and be missing the main, base one....
-------------------
I don't do many straight portraits, but man, there is a lot to consider......
So I want to do more with the OOT system..
Should I/We demand Daz bring All the OOT stuff over or just open a ticket?
This is only my second time discovering 'missing products' from the store.

Comments
Daz does a good job of mentioning 'base products' in the 'Required Products' tag. Most of OOT's stuff on Daz doesn't have requirements, meaning that each product is standalone.
I've never seen a product sold on Daz with a requirement from an external shop.
Perhaps you're thinking of the OOT IrayPair hair shaders. Those are awesome at making hair look great in Iray, but they aren't at all necessary or base for the OOT hair sold on Daz website. Or perhaps I'm not understanding the question...
I don't believe there is any product named OOT Hair, I believe, based on the phrasing, that Llynara was talking about Out Of Touch hair products in general as good examples of well done hairstyles (and she is obviously right in her assessment). Anyways, OOT doesn't have any exclusivity with Daz, so you may be interested in browsing his store at Rendo.
Edit: just a brainwave, was she talking about hair shaders? In that case, OOT Iray Pair shaders are sold at Rendo. They are very good, though on the high gloss, clearly airbrushed side of realism (that is, more movie star and less conventional hair salon).
On further thought, you may be referring to 'OOT Hairblending 2.0', mentioned on several OOT products at Daz.
This confused me at first too, but it's not a separate base product. It's just functionality included with every product that mentions it. It's a cool blending technique, which you get accostomed to after playing with a hair that utilizes it for a bit.
In that case, OOT Iray Pair shaders are sold at Rendo.
So do I NEED THAT?
'OOT Hairblending 2.0',
Yes, becuase there's one for each hair, but not one for use, overall--
Which I thought would be the base product. Where is the product called ...oh snaps.....
So can I use that Hair Blending on any other product- it's a material, but NOT A SHADER?
The shader is a separate product, sold over at Rendo. I have the link, but it's weird to buy it over there for use with their stuff hair, erm stuff here.
Not wierd at all considering the vendor sells at both places and the OOT IrayPair Hair Shaders are not required for any product. Maybe DAZ passed on them, who knows.
I got a good chuckle on the "demand" part, LOL
Sorry, avxp, maybe I should make it clearer. OOT's universal hair shader is Iraypair at Rendo. Those can be used on any hair, and I've got a whole section on that.
Now most of OOT'S newest hairs come with "Hairblending 2.0", a built-in feature, which has 20 base colors, 20 blend colors, and 10 blend styles called alpha patterns.
There are also addon "Xpansion packs" available for some of the newer hairs (Like Super Sleeky Hair) that give you 110 more base and blend colors, 10 additional blend styles and 40 presets.
Happy to revise, clarify, etc so that it's clearer in the tutorial.
Yes, you got it. I did sections on universal hair shaders for Iray as well as 3Delight, plus walk throughs on how to use them. Then I talked about how to use OOT hairs with the hairblending features.
It was a lot of fun, and plenty more to come!
Well, the tutorials are great and it makes me want to learn more about hair, overall.
Your opening statements are very relevant.
I think you gotta share 'some' of that stuff over here, on Daz.
I'd love to share more, but you might send me a cease and desist letter. lol
Thank you for your articles.
*** I don't want to open a can of worms, but some stuff from Daz is over there with a different name and description.
I'm looking at it in my cart and thinking. "Wow, don't I own something just like this...?"
LOL, glad you like it! I figured I'd make these available to patrons first (as they take a lot of time and work) and to the public later. I do a lot of public tips on Patreon as well as on my art thread here too. I don't pretend to know everything, but love sharing what I learn as I go.
If there's enough interest and support, I'd be interested in doing a book someday. I've done technical and non-technical writing and documentation for years. Some weird, screenshot-obsessed part of me really enjoys it! LOL
A DAZ MANUAL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol, I still want to make a Daz Survival Guide that explains models come without hair and the PC+ benefits and, basially all the stuff you need to learn and do FIRST.
My troubleshooting guide is already a pretty huge document.
