Daz, Don't Tease!
OK! This is not playing nice! Daz!
I have a look in my Smart Content Library and see a product called dForce. So I download it and take a look at the product file. I find what looks like a dynamic (dynamic clothing) product. So, I look for a plugin. No plugin to be found any place??? So, I do a search on line for Daz dForce and find out it is a plugin for dynamic clothing. BIG, BIG Excitement!!! Yea!!! As you can tell I am a huge fan of dynamic clothing.... But...
I find out I can't use it until the release of Daz Studio 4.10 :( And that is a big sad face, Daz!
And too top it off, I hate waiting for something I want.
How long is this going to be? A week? A month? A year? Can a simple user like myself get this Daz Studio 4.10? I would be happy to test this product out for you.
Please tell me it is just around the corner? Waiting.......... sucks!

Ah! Now I am happy, someone responed to my pleas. But to tell the truth JL, I would like the plugin right now. But I can wait, I don't need the car without the wheels, I need it to work out of the box. I am an old time user of the Poser clothroom. And that being the case, I have a truck load of dynamic clothing that I hope is usable in this new dForce plugin. I have being asking Daz for it (dynamic plugin that works with everything) for years, and now its around the corner.
So, I am just having some fun with Daz and the fact that they (do) listen to their users/customers wishes. It is a good thing. Some companies do nothing, our give you something busted.
Downloading the beta takes ages but to me it was worth it. DForce is crazy fun to play with. Here's one of the threads where people are posting their DForce renders: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/203671/let-s-see-your-dforce-renders-experiments-interesting-results#latest
So I'm gonna have to invest another couple hundred dollars for "d-Force compliant" clothing, aren't I [sigh]?
I expect most new clothing items to start being dforce compatible as the standard, and from reading the threads it looks like the majority of already existing products are easily converted with the supplied materials, so for those you won't have to spend a penny, just a bit of time.
Only if you want those, unlike the current system you can also convert existing content or create your own. As with WWD or Poser cloth room the results will vary depending on how the clothes were made initially (for example if you have separate parts it might fall apart), but you can see really nice examples in the announcement thread.
New content marked as "dForce compliant" will simply have dForce settings included and will have been tested with dForce so you know it will work.
I have tried a couple Poser dynamics, and on basic/default settings, they work fairly well, though some have a couple issues here and there. I'd imagine with further tweaking, they could work just as well with dForce as they do in the cloth room in Poser.
Also, Mada's weight map method to prevent breakage in non-attached-in-geometry is a godsend.
There's a lot of older poser dynamic clothing I have my eye on (mostly by Arki from RDNA) that I'll be excited to use this way... once DS 4.10 is stable and I've had some time to practice with dForce on other things. I don't do open betas. Always worried that it will screw something up.
The more I think about it, I may download the Daz Studio beta. (Add a: deep voice here, "We are Daz, resistance is futile!") I really do want to play with this new dForce... I guess if it is not fully working I can uninstall it. I can feel the force...
Thanks guys for the info... I am off to install it.
Hey thanks, that's a LOT better! Looking forward to it now.
