Carrara, Hexagon and Bryce on sale at silly big discounts...

Greetings,

Just thought I'd toss out there that you can get Carrara (with a new product and PC+ discount) at under $6, and equivalently absurdly low pricing for the other two apps.  There's a lot of debate around them, but they are all vastly, VASTLY more valuable than the cuppa that they are priced at right now.  Here's the category listing.

Get them if you don't already have them.

Also note that Carrara 8.5 Pro comes with the M5 and V5 Pro Bundles for Genesis, in case you are in need of those figures, their goodies, or their naughty bits.

  • and I doubt you can find anything external that has modeling capabilities, physics, particles, dynamic hair, terrain creation and trees generation that loads duf format  rigged from your library with the ability to load clothes and poses as well (besides of course DAZ studio) than Carrara

Does it? I was under the impression that it only comes with the items from the pro bundles, not the pro bundles themselves (ie: no "naughty bits" and not qualifying as an actual pro item, when the requirement is such).

    Comes with M/F Anatomical Elements

  • Hexagon and Bryce aren't compatible with the latest macOS updates, though. So if you're using any macOS past the ones listed on the product pages, you're pretty much out of luck. :/

    Greetings,

I've used Hexagon on OS X 10.12, so it works there at least...  Not great, but nothing explodes.  (There's some OpenGL weirdness, mainly, IIRC.)

At the prices, though, they're all worth having just to have another arrow in your quiver, and maybe to discover an app that works well with how you think.

...I purchased Hexagon ages ago during an MM sale,  Paid something like 40$ for it after applying a 25$ gallery voucher and coupon (full retail price was 149$). Never expected the bugs and instabilities I began to encounter (of course after the 30 day return period).  Always held out hope Daz would release updates that fixed these issues along with moving it to 64 bit like they did to Studio and even Carrara, but over all the years since, it was just left to wither on the vine.

    ...sad.

I'm also using it on 10.12. Sometimes it works just fine, sometimes I get endless validation errors, and occasionally it crashes entirely. Installation was weird - it took about half an hour for the installer to finish launching, but had no problems after that.
