Material too glossy

Hello,

so I have this bodysuit that is made for V4 so it dosen't come with an Iray material.

Its basically textures for the actual V4 figure not actually clothes but I managed the almost fit it to G3F.

The thing is when I render it with the default material option it looks way too glossy.

When I change it to matte it is too matte.. I tried the other options too but they are too glossy aswell. How can I change the texture so it actually looks nice?

PS: If anyone knows a hair that looks like this https://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/soulcalibur/images/a/a9/500px-SC4_Taki.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/350?cb=20140820153853 let me know

You could simply reduce the value of Glossiness. It's currently at top level, so mabe if you dial it down a bit it will work. It's in the foutrth slot from the top. Have you tried that already?

Of course, you could also convert the entire thing to Iray materials, and then tinker around with the glossy roughness value.

  • Oh i didn't see that for some reason. Now it works.

  • Note that it's usually best to convert 3Delight materials to Iray (using the Iray Uber Shader) then start experimenting with tweaks to various dials. If you tweak in 3Delight then rely on the autoconvert at render time, you're never quite sure how the changes you see in the render relate to the changes you made in the dial settings. If you tweak settings that are already converted to Iray, things are a lot more consistent from beginning to end, and it's easier to understand the effects of your tweaks.
