Quick Question - Offline Set up

I'm going to be out of town next week, and I'm taking my laptop but no internet, I just want some confirmation on setting up offline content.

So all I have to do is download the offline package along with the authorization file and place them in the DIM installation folder?

That's it right? No need for more steps?

Personally I always use manual install and work in offline mode and didn't have any issue so far.

  • Are you wanting to install content on the move or just to use your existing content? DS does not require an active connection to use installed content, and cares about validation only for encrypted connect-only content.

Oh thank you, I actually did this and I didn't have any trouble. I forgot to reply tho... haha sorry and thanks.

Well not on the move just needed to make sure it was there when I left but no worries I got it.

I do have another quick question seeing how I did everything manually I noticed the templates...What are the templates for?

  • Templates are image files showing how the UVs are laid out, people making textures (especially using a 2D image editor) use them, they aren't needed in DS (unless used as an opacity map to fake wireframe).
