My Daz library is on the wrong drive

Hey!

somehow my Daz library has installed on my C drive, which is a small ssd that I use for my OS and other critical programs.

the problem is I've made custom skins and they're inside the folders of the other textures.

how do I go about moving everything without losing my .duf files pathing? I'm worried it won't be able t locate the files anymore when I open scenes I created already.

please help as I've ran out of space on my ssd.

if you move your library contents to a different location, you just need to update your content manager to pinpoint to the new location of the folder(s).  that's what I am doing now as my 2 TB EXHD has ran out of space and am now moving them to a 4TB EXHD.

  • Do you have to do that for each one? or if you copy the main file and it's contents can you just point it to the Daz file?

You will copy the libraries that contain your stuff to your new drive; you should have two at least (Daz3d Library  for your 3rd party stuff and created stuff, and  My Daz 3d Library which is where DIM and Connect put stuff).  You will next open Daz Studio and open its preferences.  Got to Content Manager which should show you a list of now obsolete Daz Studio and Poser libraries and runtimes.  Click the edit button, selecxt each library and choose instead the same library on your new hard drive. When you have remapped all of your libraries and runtimes, tell Content Manager to Apply.  Open DIM and click on the gear on the right top.  Tell DIM to install new products in the My Daz 3d Library.  Open one of your ol files and make sure it works.  Make a new scene and make sure it works. Download a freebie from Daz3d and make sure it shows up in the appropriate library.  Since you have two copies of everything right now, make a nice backup your original libraries and runtimes, and then delete them.

Thank you both! As far as I can tell, everything seems to be working fine :)

Now I have another 700GB to fill!!
