Another Best Way to Search the DAZ Forums: Use DuckDuckGo

Another excellent thread discusses how to use Google to search DAZ. Well, if you prefer not to use Google, the same syntax works using DuckDuckGo. For an example of how to find mention of Genesis 8 morphs in these fora, go to duckduckgo.com and search using these terms:

    genesis 8 morphs site:daz3d.com/forums

If you're actually trying to find a G8 morph product to buy in the content store, use these terms:

    genesis 8 morphs site:daz3d.com/shop

That's awesome, thanks Ikubo.  Without getting political, I'll just say that Google makes my skin crawl, so a more effective alternative is great.

  • This works on most search engines, including but not limited to: Yahoo, and Ixquick/Startpage.

In my experience DuckDuckGo is not nearly as thorough nor accurate as Google with the same search terms.

True but 99% of the time DDG gives me the info I want and if not then I can flip to Google. Personally I like that there are alternatives but they won't stay up nor improve if no one uses them.

  • If this forum used phpbb or similar engine, you could sort search results by date of thread creation, date of last post, number of posts, you could search specific categories only, by username, inside of specific thread...
