DS demands that I log in

Okay, this is getting tedious. When I start DS it whines that my configureation has changed and wants me to log in.

Let's make this one real clear and limpid: my configuration has not changed between yesterday and today. I don't

want to show my badge every goddamn time I fire up a program which, by the way, I only use in offline mode.

I don't even use Smart Content. When I buy something it's straight from the shop and I donwload the offline installation

package. Is there any way to shut up this annoying gatekeeper which is guarding nothing and still demands to see my

credentials just for kicks?

I had exactly the same problem. It went on for months, and with new installs of different versions. After trying umpteen ways,Tech Support finally found the solution. I'll post it as it was given to me. I followed these steps and I've never seen the error since.

Please uninstall Daz Studio and the PostgreSQL. Then go to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\cms and rename or remove the ContentCluster folder and the cmscfg.json file located there.

(If you can not see your AppData folder, type %appdata% in the Start menu and Windows will open the hidden folder.)

Once you have done that, reinstall first Daz Studio and then the PostgreSQL CMS (make sure you are not installing as Administrator). Then open Daz Studio and re-import metadata.
With the box checked that userdata overwrites product data.
To do this, right click on the Content Library pane, choose Content DB Maintenance, tick Re-Import Metadata, click Accept. Tick User Data and All Products and click Accept.

Btw, I don't use smart content or metadata, but I did those steps anyway.

    1. Open Daz Studio
    2. Click "Edit"
    3. Click "Preferences"
    4. Select the "Startup" tab

    What options are checkmarked?

  • While the alert is annoying it isn't, if you aren't using any encrypted Connect-only content, blockign any feature of the application.

Isn't something missing in this sentence? O_o

  • Nothing is missing. Another way to word it is: If you aren't using any encrypted content, the alert is annoying but does not block any feature of the application.

  • Well, it's missing a spell-check.

The fact remains that it's a useless nag.

I had this a long time ago. Most of the time I ignored it. I followed the suggestions from support but none of them made any difference. Eventually it went away of it's own accord, I've no idea why. I don't use smart content but I do use categories which are in the CMS database, and I do all my Daz Studio content installations using DIM execpt the few cases where I bought encrypted content.

Support did say that if you have a beta and a release version of Studio installed you can get this when you go from using one veriosn to the other.

That was true a while back, as the system was changed to be less fragile (at the time, in a very early release, it was very inclined to lose the authentication). I have had to reauthenticate after Windows updates until recently (I think the last oen was OK) but I haven't noticed an issue from switching between beta and release.
