Vendors you fantasize about working together....

I sometimes suggest two of my favorite vendors get together and make something...

You have power houses like

FWAS (Fred Winkler Art + Sabby)

Bobby 25 and Sarsa (Daz Originals?)

Fisty and Darc

---- Seeing @RiverSoft Art and @Zev0 in the same thread speaking to each other got my brain locked up for a minute and reminded me of a topic I was going to start a few weeks ago....so......

Here it is: Who is your dynamic duo....who would you LOVE TO SEE COLLABORATE??????? and basically why, if you need to explain.....

@Stonemason + @Tesla3dCorp (Inside and Outside of an area)

@FirstBastion + @DzFire + The AntFarm@AntMan (I know it's three, but dang ANY combination would be crazy)

Alrighty, alrighty, I can't NOT break the rules.......

I'd like to mix the Egyptian style of (SWAM Fisty & Darc Fred Winkler Art Lilflame Sabby Sedor Sveva) + @Aeon Soul to finally get a planet and place where all of Aeon's stuff would be at home. Figures plus Furnishings plus Fortifications...

@Polish + @petipet     (We want Polish to revisit Sci-Fi)

@Rane + @petipet   (We need more ships)

I have fantasies.

If Josh Crockett could drag Sanctum Arts' butt back and do a collab.

i don't have favorite vendors for the simple fact that every vendor has items that I don't care for or don't fit my needs. I have been at this for awhile and have seen plenty of vendors come and go and also change styles and subject matter. Imaginary_House, who does lots of environments here, did one of my fav V4 characters when starting out.

As for collaborations, I'd like to see meshitup for the ideas and Luthbel for the modeling in doing more historical/period clothing.

I'd like to see Linday and DarkEdgedesign do a complete realistic military outfit.

I'd like to see Deepsea and Sabby create a highly realistic, yet attractive female character. Deepsea's Star Life is amazingly detailed, yet very unattractive to me, so Sabby's input would be a big bonus IMO.

I would be interested in what Ironman13 and Aako could come up with since Aako's Dry mud desert is the most versatile and useful addon I have.

The VWD programmer, the LAMH programmer, the Carrara algorithm programmers, and the DAZ Studio programmers all for a wonderfully useful 1 stop animation modeling, animation, and rendering solution in DS 4.10. Toss in an Blender cloth & hair physics & modeling iff they are Apache or MIT or similar and not GPL or LGPL

Luthbel & Shox-Design on a Giorgio Armani 3-piece men's full business suit with lapel types/morphs, multiple collar types/morphs, and multiple tie types/morphs and seven texture sets (with Bobbie 25 morph redundancy in the jacket, pants, and shirt).

I work with all the venders already ( well sort of , the ones i have bought their content from anyway which is most all of them) and I work with most of them most days for one project or another. maybe not directly . but if you buy their products   you are work with them in your projects technically.

Nah they dont really need to team up to be better, I think each of them are already great on their own smiley Collaboration really depends on if their workflow meshes together, Eg. Artist A inerestied in Texturing and Materials, Artist B into Modelling and Promos, Artist C into Rigging. Its not as much about subject of content or similar styles/themes, really must formost gel together both practically in workflow and emotionally as friends. Though it is great to imagine our favourites together!

This :D Remember the old adage-- too many cooks spoil the broth. Many of the folks y'all have mentioned do incredible work on their own, but if they were to work together (especially those with disaparate styles), they begin to compromise their artistic vision and it becomes less of them. On the other side, there are folks I dream of working alone to see their own artistic vision come to fruition without compromise or watering it down for a partner (including folks I have partnered with-- I'd love to see them do solo work).

Agreed. One thing to keep in mind though, the artistic vision may not be what the consumers totally want. Then you are faced with the decision, do I stick with my artistic vision or do I change/add things to accomodate the consumer which thinks they are always right. The main reason many bring up collabarations is there is usually an area that a vendor might be lacking in and the consumers hope is that the other added party is stronger in that area and the two could combine talents for a more complete package. Unfortunately more often than not this type of pairing doesn't work well.

Assuming they're getting together to make one item.

It's a meal, not a broth. Get the Chef who is good with steaks to cook the meat. Get the one who's great with the starches do that.

Artists love a challenge and if it's going to make them money in the process, double the desire. lol

Stonemason, for one, makes great structures and cityscapes.

Also makes wonderful robots and vehicles.

On his own, no moving parts and no rigging. If he were to work with someone else, THEY could do the rigging and now the flaps move on Skybike 3 and the next Prototype robot takes genesis 3 and 8 poses..

Not to beat that dead horse, but you've got some vendors who do wonders with hair and others do figures. Might be nice to buy a figure and get everything in the promo shot(s).

There's the guy who did the middle east city generator and the people generator. If he were to work with Stonemason, he could create a people generator that works with Stonemason's sets and finally get some people in those cityscapes....

Why not? There's a vendor that does LIGHTING for Stonemason sets, why not street traffic lo-rez vehicles or crowds?

I think there'd be more interest in modern day to futuristic crowds than any other category besides, maybe straight medieval armies. [lots of elves verse demons (the sexy ones with heels and bikinis...lol]

Daz has a hundred dragons. Why not have the vendor who did that recent dinosaur harness- make that product for MANY of those dragons. Daz, itself, could commission him to make a flexible product that fits all the dragons, horses and such. On his own, he likes HIS kind of dinosaur. For business, he might stretch and help Daz out with something aimed at widening the 'dragon theme'.

MICK the castle guy could work with the room-creator vendor and make a 'room generator'...grab someone else to do textures even more- and we get a Sci-fi base generator...

The problem avxp, is that artists and creators have different mindsets. You are thinking as a consumer, not an artist. An artist does what they do more out of passion and artistic vsion more than for a paycheck and when you tack on deadlines and features that the artist could care less about, it becaomes more work and less about art/being creative. (been there many times).

as a sous chef for many years I don't know many executive chefs that played with with other chefs, LOL.

For the record, Stonemason is also this vendor, so he knows rigging well also

I'd have many, a lot of which have been mentioned, but for some reason @MEC4D and @Sickleyield spring to the forefront of my mind.

  • Are we talking about bundles where they work on separate items? Or all on the same thing? I think I'd like to see a bundle or work by any combination of Godin, FW, OOT, SWAM, Pretty3D and Arryn.

Imagine the scifi city sprawls that would come from a Stonemason and First bastion team-up!

  • Griffin AvidGriffin Avid Posts: 3,838

    Today's bundle is incredible.

What if a character was wearing the Ragnarok Mask and ripped it off to expose the face of Handsome Harvey?....what a dramatic moment that would be....

It's very easy to finally have 3 new releases in your cart at once. Not that other stuffs didn't qualify...

    I'd like to see @Kibarreto    https://www.daz3d.com/kibarreto  work with @petipet

I'd love to see them do a massive and long series and after it hits the store, try to figure out who did what- or who had lead for which release.....

    More hallways...labs...bridges...ship areas.....starships....jet fighters.....

A MASSIVE SPACECRAFT CARRIER with working areas and smaller ships that launch...support ships...refueling tugs.....

What a series, some kind of Space Frontiers Fleet....product line....oh my.......

Then, grab uniforms from a bank of superstars.....

    ground vehicles...drop ships.....

I think Daz should sponser something of a special product run and launch its own series...like they do with Sci-Fi base and such...make a HUGE universe of multiple vendors working on one them- and interconnected universe, where some of the markings are consistent...as if they provided a few templates....

Maybe one side verse another and both are awesome...so ther's a real war of two factions...a galactic civil war....

  • exstarsisexstarsis Posts: 2,128

Well, if you theorize that all the Feature characters are interconnected, they're already halfway there.

I feel like this is definitely a 'bundle' discussion, though. Like, it'd be cool if Daz arranged prop/architecture bundles as well as character/clothing/hair bundles.
