Wrap rope around a figure
in The Commons
I have a cowboy character that I want to catch this cow https://www.daz3d.com/lorez-cow. For that I need some kind of lasso or rope that I can wrap around the cow and that goes back to the hand of the cowboy. Is there any product like that?

There is this: https://www.daz3d.com/western-gear
You might also consider SickleYield's, "Tied Up" product (latest version is for G3, but earlier versions exist):

included are several different lengths of poseable ropes that you should be able to wrap around your cow and lead back to your cowboy's hand. If you've never worked with posing a long chain of bones before, it can be a bit tricky to get the look you're after. To get a nice, uniform "wrap" around something using only a portion of the rope, expand the node hierarchy of bones in the Scene tab and select a consecutive group of bones (for example, the last 30 bones in the rope). Then go to the Parameters tab and select the SAME group of bones (the same ines you chose in the Scene tab), go to the Rotations parameter and apply a rotation to one of the three axes (X, Y, or Z). If the rope didn't coil in the direction you wanted, reset the transformation and try a different axis. Once you get the coil about right, you will probably want to spread the loops out a bit. With the same bones selected in the Parameters tab, apply a rotation along one of the other axes (sometimes this is conveniently labeled "Twist" but not always). A small rotation along the twisting axis will spread the loops out nicely. From there, you can select different bones or groups of bones to tweak the shape to your liking. The challenge comes in when you want to manipulate bones in the middle of the chain and not disturb the bones further down the chain. Pinning might help, but I haven't messed with that much. If someone else has some good long-chain posing tips, I'd love to learn them!
Good luck with your render!
