Need help making a character fit into a chair - resolved

Some chairs, particularly some sci fi ones on the deck of a space ship for example, seem a bit low to the ground. When I try to seat a character, the character's legs are too long so they go into the floor, or alternatively I have to lift the character up, then their rear is no longer in the chair. Of cours I can stretch the character's leg out in front of them so that the heels touch the ground away from their body, in a much more relaxed position, but I don't want to do that. I tried scaling the chair up and it looked comical. What I probably need to do is scale just the chair legs/height? I'm not certain, but any ideas are much appreciated.

What chairs are you working with?
Right now, The Captain's Ready Room. However, I get the same problem/issue with other chairs as well so I know it is just lack of knowledge on my part.
Could you show a screen grab or a render ?
What would your legs do if you sat in a chair low to the ground? look at images online of peope sitting in low chairs. If the chairs look odd after scaling them up, it could be a complete scaling issue and you might need to scale down the figures or scale up the prop
The product page says: "Pre-scaled for DAZ Studio and Poser human figures." So it looks like he's aware of correct scaling.
Doesn't mean it's correct, just the vendors idea of scaling. Looking at the promos, the chairs do seem to be on the lower side. Funny how there are no promos with figures sitting in them, LOL
Just checked one of the V4 pose sets for the Vanguard, this is how it looks, if you bend the legs they also go through the floor.
I get this issue all the time. What I do is select the chair, go to the Parameters Tab, and increase the Y Scale.
Per your advices, I scaled the character down a little, and the chair up a little. I also changed the pose slightly. Taking the pic/rendering from a different angle also helped cover up the issue. Thank you all for your help, I see now that it is a matter of fiddling around with everything lol.
True if you only bend at the knee ,but if you rotate the pelvis a bit and bend the thighs a bit you should get a better pose ..... and to me that V4 pose looks uncomfortable ...but that's just my opinion ,I tend to tweak poses alot ,this is Genesis3 male ,in one of the Vanguard seats .......
I did another trial, and hip rotation helps too. I need to learn to pin better so everything doesn't move when I'm posing the figures, but I'm getting better at this a little at a time.
I haven't learned to "pin" at all ,I just work bone by bone until I've got what I want most of the time ,or find a preset pose that is close to what I want and go from there ,or a picture of the pose I want and work from that.
How are you posing? Use the node selector, select a specific body part and use the sliders and not the rotating ball at the top of the view pane, you will get much more precise movement this way. In my expereince pinning doesn't work all that well at all.
