GPUs in the Task Manager - Future Windows 10 Feature

Microsoft is adding support for seeing the performance/utilization of the GPUs in task manager in a future update for Windows 10.  https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/directx/2017/07/21/gpus-in-the-task-manager/  Should be handy for us.

    Interesting....

Just one more of the many core operating system functions that should have been included in Windows many years ago...equipment/component monitoring. Instead we have to download so many separate apps to do basic operating system core functions.

I suppose I'll stick with CPUID or GPU-Z for monitoring. Although we'll see how they implemented. And the skeptic in me says it will be just another Windows mediocrity.

  • Yet another function that I won't use. I prefer staand alone utilities to stuff tucked in obscure corners of the OS.

I just wish there was a simple app that gave you a percentage of usuage each device on your network was using.

That way, when netflix on the tv, or a video on a computer is super slow to load, you can tell what device is using all your bandwith and disconnect it (if in a hurry) or troubleshoot it.
