Ms Hedgehog

Well this product has certainly introduced a whole new possibilty for a line of figures that would be excellent for comics or animations.

A whole line of Daz animals (cats, dogs, horses, mice, etc.) that can easlily be animated shifting from person to animal and back. I hope the line keeps going beyond the hedgehog! And for both male and female (when they release the male that is)

That's the most astonishing thing I've ever seen on the store. Holy poot.

  • Joe Quick has been doing that type of thing ever since Genesis, and I have pretty much everything he has done.  This one would make a really good companion to the duck ;)  Gotta see what I have left over from the i13 sale yesterday.  Things are beginning to get tight for the month.

I've not seen a human morph that looked that good and realistic as an animal before. I've seen the duck one, but a toon animal is a bit different than getting a realistic one.

    *edit*

Not to take away from Joe's work, he's done an excellent job from what I've seen.

My housemate the video game designer wonders, "How the heck does the _rigging_ stay functional in extreme morphs like that?"

In DS you can adjust the rigging for each shape morph.  It's used all the time, it's just usually not that obvious, and it's a very easy process.  I'm guessing this shape also has a ton of extra JCMs that multipy with G8F's originals when the hedgehog morph is active, that's a very long and teedious process.

Edit: yeah, 29 extra JCMs according to the readme, a lot of work and care was put into this character.

That was my guess (JCMs). Awesome!

Well Holly Hedgehog and the Frogman went on my Wishlist but I went ahead & bought Mr Bear & Son along with the Genesis 3 Male? Female? Mr Duckie. I guess Mr means it's a male but I'll have to look if joeQuick morphed G3F or G3M.

No one pushes the Genesis line like Joe Quick.  Amazing work.

As always, amazed by the incredible Mr. Joe Quick. :)

    Well now I'm embarassed,

I hadn't realized this WAS a JoeQuick item :O LOL

I had seen his toon Duck morphs which do look good, but I've not gotten into any projects requiring toons (yet) so I haven't been through his catelog much. When I saw this new character though, the ideas came flooding in relating to stuff I am working on (which would require more realistic looking animals)

Are hedgehogs really small enough to fit in a tea cup!

Depends on their age. Last grown hedgehog I saw got his head stuck in a yoghurt pot, so he would have outgrown a tea cup.

I imagine the babies are. My nephew had a pet hedgehog. it was about the size of a small guinea pig. (At least, it was about 2/3 the size of my daughter's guinea pig, as near as I could tell.)

Thanks, I have only ever seen them on cartoons. I think they must be related to porcupines.

Joe is right, she's Adorable! It's incredible that he could morph that out of the base G8F! Just amazing!

I have a dum-dum question: how do the quills and spines work when G8F's not morphed into a hedgehog? It could be a handy thing for an alien or exotic character...
