Been away for a while, questions abound...

But, I'm only going to ask one now:

In catching up on the discussions about Daz 4.9 and the whole encrypted content brouhaha, I read a thread from DAZ_Steve where it was pronounced that any encrypted content would automatically decrypt itself a year after the purchase (or release date, I misremember atm).

This seems like a fairly important point, yet I don't see it mentioned in the sticky DAZ Connect FAQ.

Maybe I missed some other message, so can someone confirm this behavior?

Thanks.

This thread has been tracking the items as they go from encrypted only to normal items.  https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/89246/get-your-encrypted-daz-connect-content-here-thread/  So far everything has been on schedule minus a few glitches of things being made encrypted when they weren't supposed to be (these were all fixed same day I recall).

OK, so it is so.  I saw that thread, but obviously didn't grok what I was skimming.    I would think that would be a bullet point in the FAQ.

    Thanks very much.

PS.  Oh, actually, I just thought of another...  so does this decryption happen locally, even if you don't or cannot connect to DAZ?  Or do you have to log in to DAZ for the decryption to occur?  If it's a "dead man" switch intended to ensure access, I would assume the former.

The local content stays as is, but there is then a decrypted version on the servers.
