so sad, not only M. Landau but also George A. Romero.
I discovered Martin in the tv show "Space : 1999" back in the eraly 80' late 70' (in France). Then I recognized him in other shows. I was happy to see him now and then in several shows.
My favorite quote from Tim Burton's "Ed Wood" was delivered by Landau who was playing Bella Lugosi. Unfortunately the TOS does not allow me to write it out.
God bless you Martin.
Here's the line, I suggest headphones:

Yeah, it was the late 1960s Mission Impossible TV series I remember him from and actually even earlier I believe in late '50s Twilight Zone episode or two. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0734592/
Yet another face from my childhood gone. I remember watching all of the original run of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE (which he left after 3 seasons to be replaced by Leonard Nimoy) and both seasons of SPACE 1999, though I never liked the latter as much as its direct predecessor, UFO. That said, while his Lugosi in Ed Wood is a fantastic piece of acting, my favorite Landau role will always be the sometimes crafty but usually bamboozled Chief Walks-Stooped-Over in HALLELUJAH TRAIL.

I have a friendship with one of his daughters, the excellent actress, Juliet Landau. This is a sad time.
It had been a while sine I last heard of a celebrity I knww of passing, and then two in quick succession. My condolences to the friends and fanily.
Just a week or two ago I was thinking that I'd love to see a Space 1999 remake.
Another great gone.
Awwww...I used to watch Space 1999 as a kid. RIP Martin.
Edit: Oh, another internet hoax. I'm getting conflicting stories here. I guess I'll wait for the evening news.

LOL
I've never seen the movie mentioned. I guess I'll have to find it.

it's wonderful, hilarious, bittersweet, and ahead of it's time.
Landau won a best supporting actor Oscar for his performance in the film and deserved it, he was great.
I remember him from Mission Impossible reruns as well as some wonderful, wonderful roles in movies like Crimes and Misdemeanors.

R.I.P. Sir. You were and still are amazing! Thanks for the great films. Condolences to family and friends and fans!
Rest In Peace. Condolences to the family. I grew up with him and the like, very sad.
One has apparently been in the works for a while. Am unsure what might have happened with it.
Had a memorable role in the Outer Limits episode, 'The Man Who Was Never Born'. A long and solid career.
He was so distinguished and polished, and very talented. Condolences to his family.
