Is there a way to add a search term to a product?

When you do a search for a product, it rarely comes up by your search because they have weird names and varied naming conventions.

So inserting bike might not bring up your pose collection for biking or the new bike you just bought because the bike poses are called "Day at the park poses" and the required item is the bike, which also doesn't come up because the poduct is called "Two-Wheeled Fun for Genesis 2 Females" lol

Is there  any way I could edit the (meta-data?) or product search terms so I can create my own custom Search Terms???

Suppose I add "Killer" to a small set of products, I want to be able to type "'killer' into the smart content search bar and have these products show up in a list.

I think this would be a great way to sort the library.

The answer to you questions is Yes you can set unique Tags.

One way is editing the metadata. You can do this as long as it is not part of DAZ Connect. If DAZ Studio see the Metadata is different, than what is on the server it will suggest you update the Metadata and it will Heals the error, which really isn't an error.

The easier way is to edit the Tags. To do that, you select the item, Bring up the Tips/Info/Tags pane, you might have to pop it up. You can put in any number of Custom tags, for any item, as long as they are separated by a comma; but remember to click the Apply Changes, in the upper right hand corner, or they will not be saved.

Then you might want to Export your User Data, by right clicking on the "Content Library" tab, then click "Content DB Maintenance...", When the Dialogue box come up, click "Export User Data" and click the Accept Button. Now you have written out your user changes. If for some reason you have to rebuild your Content Library, you can reload your User Data and not have to enter it all back in again.

    Hope that helps

I'm looking to do this on a PRODUCT level. When I have an actual product selected, the tag area is not avialable, but the individual files can be tagged.

And thus, I'm using key words only when Smart Content is using FILES. That does bring up results, but it's a scrambled list of results.

There is no way that I know of to Tag a Product, save by it's name. Not helpful if you only know it has a Leather Jacket. But if you tag Geometry Assets, they should come up under their Products. So if you tags a gun as "Ray Blaster" when you seach for Ray or Blaster and it should bring up the Product. That having been said, I just tried to find the Sauce Bottle from Vintage Hot Dog Cart and failed. it did come up under Files. Then it is a click to the product.

    Yeah, I know. Stinks.

    It's the Smart Content tab.

Wish there was one that we created and that USER tab gave the user full control.

-like drag and drop products...sort by physically moving them around.

    - Changing names/tags/descriptions/notes on the PRODUCT itself.

-Greyed out options so it's there and greyed out..

    - a most used sort function

    - or even a stickie or pin function so certain products can by stuck to the top of the product list untill removed.

    - a linked to or "used with" icon so if I grab a figure, it lists EVERY script or Morph or Clothing/pose/prop used with that figure.

    - Sometimes I go "Where did these boots come from?" - would be nice if there was a way to get back to all the original sources in one shot.

I have a lot of M4, V4, and A3 stuff that doesn't come up in the Smart Content Tab.  It's annoying as hell as I can't see all the stuff I have for them.

That's another thiing. I sometimes have to just trawl through EVERY product, ever to see what I own. I have also bought the same items twice.

Always the unimesh/M4/genesis version. Still catches me. Some I only noticing now that I started the deep search.

They were probably really cheap so I eat most of them.
