Iray Lights and problems

Has anybody else been having intermittent problems with Iray lights (spotlights mostly) in the newest non-beta version of D|S? Sometimes they simply don't seem to generate light, until I adjust the camera until they're in the scene (or not in the scene) or something--like, I'll be in Iray Preview Mode and the scene will be black and I'll nudge the camera a bit left or right and suddenly the scene is lit as expected. Right now I'm playing with a set and Scene-Only mode is pitch black despite the 8 spotlights in the scene. And yes, I signed up a year ago, the lumens are cranked up even past what the preset came with.

Is your camera below the Ground Plane? That caught me out a good few times until I realised what was happening (the Ground Plane is invisible until you render).
