New morphs for posed figures

So I’m creating a scene. I have my figure shaped and scaled and posed and positioned in the scene, and probably parented (I like to group things for visibility when working). Then I discover I need a corrective morph - to get hair in a certain position, or accomodate a soft collision, or whatever.

I don’t have Zbrush.

So I set the figure to base resolution and export to OBJ and import into my modeling program of choice (Blender). I make the necessary changes and export back to OBJ, in both cases using the settings that work fine for me when the figure is in the T-pose. I open up Morph Loader Pro and import my new morph and turn it on.

Vertexes go everywhere.

Am I trying to do the impossible, or have I missed a setting somewhere?

Do you have keep vertex order selected both on import of your obj and on export of your new obj from Blender? That's usually the cause for exploding morphs. Also select reverse deformations when importing the morph through Morph Loader Pro. Hope this helps.

  • Yep, keep vertex order is on and selecting reverse deformations gives me a different mess. I suspect it's something about parenting and scale, but I have no idea what.
