Terradome (HD sky is broken)

SeventhRoar666SeventhRoar666 Posts: 146

The creator needs to show up asap because the hd sky has messed up my transparent background. If i put it to none the hd sky is visible instead, if i put it on backdrop, NOT visible in render the background color is visible.

So, Terradome messed up my transparent color in the background. I need help asap.

Ok, this was the problem, you better fix this because this is a SERIOUS problem.

If someone click on the HD sky without having the TD3 atmosphere marked the HD sky replaces Daz basic transparency background. (This will happen with 99% for people who wants to try things out)

When this happen, the whole scene is completely ruined, there is no way to fix it, you must go back and delete every content about HD sky.hdr that you used and then reinstall it. NOT fun!

But otherwise Terradome is great, just fix this problem and it's set. The HD sky should NOT activate if TD3 Atmosphere is not marked.

Did you reset to Default render settings? You can also delete the environmental map.

I can try, but i seriously dont think it will work, the HD sky has drilled itself into Daz3D base layer.

Thanks, putting the render to default fixed it. You saved my scene, Again, thanks.

I tried what you did. The HD sky did what it is supposed to do; setting the environmental map. When I closed and restarted DS, the default "ruins" HDR map from DAz is back in the environment map; a test render gave a transparant background, so everything was back to normal on my system.

If you want to be sure your background is tranparant, check for 'Draw Dome' in the environment settings to be set to 'off'. If  there's still no transparency, there might be something else causing this....

I fixed it thanks to Timmins, but are you sure you just clicked on it? and then saved and clicked start new? Because it was that way it drilled itself into my core.

Selecting 'new' from the menu clears the scenery (characters, props, objects) but not the render settings. As such, it will also not erase any HDR map set in the environment tab.

Quitting and starting DS again did that on my settings.

Just to be sure; with 'my 'settings', when starting the DS-program, it starts without loading a scene file ( preferences - Startup - Load file --> none ). In that way it does start pretty much with a 'clean slate'.

Double clicking on a DS scene file will obviously load that scene file, including any render settings saved in that scene file.  Doubleclicking - or loading - a scene subset will load that subset without altering any render settings.

You might consider editing your original post since the problem was lack of understanding how HDRI maps work, not the Terradome product.
