Transferred (GenX2) to Genesis with no problems, so I'm thrilled!

(The Royal Punk tie got warped all to heck, but that's not a surprise)

    Wow, looks greaat!

None of the shapes really fit the classical female types (IE: bendy pipecleaner people with spherical boobs), but the transfers work... here I mixed in Girl 4 and adjusted the chin a little.

For example, in the above, I used an even gray environmental map, used the Headcamera light (which is normally ill advised for flattening images, but...). Then I pulled it into FilterForge and went with comic style+weirdness, which created a look I liked, then into Photoshop with Oil Filter at a very minimal level to clean up the image a bit. There were some weird black specs, healbrush eliminated those.

If I had wanted a more 'lined' look I could have used LR9K, but this was a quick thing. All told it took me probably 10, 15 minutes (5 minute render, experimenting with a few things, etc; not including actually creating/posing the scene)

I have no problem using 3DL..I prefer it actually..but so many use Iray now it seems..so it must be better right?? :/..

Anyway..thank you for posting all this info. Will look into LR9K and see if it is something I can use. Many thanks!

3dl had a number of unpredictable annoying things that can cause it to be slower than Iray for me, like hair with a lot of transparency.

There are things I like in 3dl, but after comparing the two for a long time, I prefer Iray whenever possible.

I experimented with the combover hair and alas it's not good at realistic close ups, but medium or longer range should be useful.

I suspect a tweak to the cutout map might make it work better (the edges of the hair are a bit too smooth).

That's a cool idea!  Then you get all the female shapes.

I'd say you'll get toony shapes but not the feminine toon shapes but the femininemale shapes if that makes sense

Yeah, the problem is if you look at the morpheus shapes, none of them are the sort of shapes women tend to have in similar cartoons. I mean, you have Mr Incredible, but Elastigirl? Nope.

If it was on similar mega sale or I had a bunch of money to burn, I'd probably get Toon Generations 2 for an appropriate female look. Although Girl4 might be about right.

Here's the current run down of what the 5 main toons in the set are most likely based on.  Please chime in if you want to help narrow it down.

Promo Pic 1 = similar to Mr Incredible (The Incredibles)
Promo Pic 2 = similar to Dr Gru (Despicable Me)
Promo Pic 3 = similar to Syndrome? (The Incredibles)
Promo Pic 4 = Aardman Style (Wallace and Grommet)?
Promo Pic 5 = Maybe the mayor from Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs?

I'm thinking number 5 is more the cranky banker from Despicable Me

Yeah, but I wasn't actually trying to get that.  Just female toons.  Here's my first go - blue-haired girl is actually G3M Cross-Figure with a bunch of Morpheus and some of G3M's morphs thrown in to make her more feminine.  Unfortunately, there are no bust-enhancement morphs available.  So I threw Girl7/Raven 7 in to give G3M Morpheus superhero some eye-candy,.  Toon conversion is a photoshop script set from Rendo, called True Ink (by DarkWorld).

    That looks really good!

@timmins.william Thanks for the info on LineRender9000. I vaguely remember something about using it in Iray when it first came out. I was still using 3Delight and transitioned over to Iray shortly thereafter . I forgot I had that product. Will definitely have to try that out.

The problem I've run into with nearly every other outlining system is that most others use Normals, which have some critical weaknesses (that is, surfaces that run mostly parallel to the camera view)

I love the new morpheus product, dialed in some morpheus and Guy 7 with some other dials. I dressed him up in the great new policeman uniform by IH Kang. Cheers! :)

Morpheus mixes really well with the DAZ body & head morph packages & Guy 7. Here's hoping to get the same for G3F / G8F practically speaking.

Very nice mix, not too toony nor too realistic! He reminds me a bit of Mad Sweeney from American Gods.

Thanks nonesuch00 and wsterdan, I like his look. I wasn't going for Mad Sweeney but I can see what you mean. :)

Bumping because it's completely insane that this STILL doesn't exist. There's so much variety and diversity in the male toon characters, but the females are basically all limited to varying degrees of the same curvy, conventionally attractive archetype. I don't have a problem with Sakura, the Girl, and so on, but they're not enough. There is more variety in Multi-Man alone than there is in all the female toons available in the Daz store combined.

maybe the PA that created Morpheus doesn't use female figures and as such doesn't create anything for them, very possible.
