How do you scale down a face?

I created a character using facegen.  Then I changed the body shape to a teen using growing up.  However, the character's face is too big for his body.  I can scale the head down, but the face stays the same so the head disappears into the face/goes wonky.  I have been unable to find a way to select the face/scale the face size down.  Any tips are much appreciated.

Sculpting a corrective morph in another app and bringing that in would be my guess.

Oh, that has happen to me a few times. Sometimes the resolution of the picture is just too small to use with FaceGen but sometimes you can try again and be more carefully placing the + signs on the picture face.

Here is a tutorial (not mine & I haven't downloaded it myself yet to try):

https://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/update-tutoriel-facegen-daz/77421 (maybe it's not allowed to link to an off site freebie? I'm not sure others do it)

The last thing you can try is another picture if you have one or if it is a scan of a small picture - rescan the picture at a very high resolution, as high as your scanner will go. Also do not allow your scanner or another other software like Gimp, Photoshop, Photoshop Essentials to do any adjustments at all to the scanned picture because that will cause detail loss to the scanned picture that FaceGen could use to make a better likeness.

@nonesuch00  I think maybe I didn't explain my issue well.  The face looks great/accurate for an adult body.   After applying it to gen 3 M, I decided to turn the character into a teen so I made the body smaller/youthful (a teen).  However now the adult sized face looks too big (I don't mean too old, I changed the features to make them more youthful too).  I was able to select the head and scale down its size, but the face isn't scaling down, only the head.  So basically, the facial features are fine/nice and clear, but just don't match up exactly with the body.  It's a bit like you know how little kids have large heads for their bodies, only this is a teen and not a tiny kid.  I'll check the tutorial though.  Thanks a bunch!

Thanks @Vaskania  I'm still trying to learn Daz so at this point and know even less about other programs.  Someday perhaps I'll get to that point :)

Oh, OK. Yes FaceGen actually make the face too big for the skull with low resolution pictures or poorly placed + signs but if that is not your problem there are some things you can adjust to make an adult face look younger:

Main thing: You can search Bing or Goggle for the average proportion of a person's head at various stages of life and use those ratios. A child's head is generally bigger in proportion to the rest of it's body than an adult's.

All of the following depend of the age of the child. An infant being the most exaggerated proportional and by the time people turn 18 they are mostly through growing.

    1) A child's head is bigger in proportion to an adult's head so use the proportional head scaling slider in the Shaping tab, compare an infant's head to an adult's

    2) Their hands and feet I'm pretty sure are often smaller in proportion to an adult's - compare an infant's feet and hand to an adult's. There are also hands & feet proportional scale morphs

    3) Tallness mostly happens during puberty so shorter legs and arms than the average teenager & adult

    4) Torso therefore in small children will look longer

    5) Nose is not as deep and the younger they are the more a nose is like a 'button' nose

    6) Face and body are rounder and have more fat.

I found in my own applying morphs practically speaking I couldn't get a character looking much less than 3 - 7 years old, and 3 year old being a somewhat 'mature' todler.

There are morphs in the Head Morphs and the Body Morphs that will create those changes in your character.

Great observations and on point.  I will try the head morphs tomorrow.  Thank you very much @nonesuch00, you are always a great help!

I would say if you have the head morphs look under HEAD/REALWORLD/  for propagating scale which will shrink the head right ,also lower the eye height just a bit , and raise the mouth height a bit that

I imagine others may run into the same problem so here's a small tutorial that may help if you use G3F.

    This 3GF morph package:

    https://www.daz3d.com/catalog/product/view/id/23420

has a "Face Smaller" morph which reduces the size of the face in proportion to the skull. I've set it to 200% here (Limits for the morph turned off) which makes the face look a bit odd, but with the "Mouth Down" morph and a few other adjustment morphs it can be made look quite normal. I have several packages and hundreds of head morphs installed so I just picked some random adjustment morphs which worked and have listed them all. The morphs from the Genesis 3 Female Head Morph Resource Kit 2 and the 200 Plus - Head & Face Morphs for Genesis 3 Female(s) packages however should be enough for a good result, the rest of the morphs from the other packages I've used adds only minor adjustments and are not really needed, and you may find similar alternatives in e.g. the G3F Head Morph package if needed.
