G8F Base Skin = Karen 7 Skin

I thought that skin looked familiar. At least I don't have to waste time trying to use Karen 7 skin on G8F.

    Oh my goodness! lol I just tested this, and you're right. It's the same. They even use the Karen 7 thumbnail for the G8F mats. lol Too funny.

    I guess because Genesis 8 is a free figure, they didn't want to spend a lot of time creating new mats for it. Still a bit disappointing to not have a fresh mat set for G8F. They also just reused used the G3F shape as well, no new shape with G8F. Seems like they might have rushed it or just didn't want to spend much time on a free figure. A bit disappointing, but I can kind of understand why they would do that.

    I'm not complaining. I'd like free G8 skins for all the G3 Core characters: If you own the G3 Core character, Daz gets all charitable on you.

    Saves me converting it, but sorry to not have another texture to use.

    On the plus side for those who use them, if you own Karen (and a G8 pro bundle) your Base G8F can have a proper anatomical elements textures, rather than relying on CaymanStudios free Torso UVs.

    The skin shaders are a little different but it's not hard to match them up.

    You're probably right. Maybe they should have taken a bit more time on this release.

    It isn't like this is a new thing, Genesis 2 reused Victoria 5's textures. Geneses 1 male and female came with *reduced resolution* Lana and Jeremy borrowed from the Gen4 elite series. Genesis 3 is rather the odd one out when it comes to it's textures.

    Hmmm, from the renders above it seems that Karen 7's textures fit Karen 7 better than G8F but I guess that is no surprise.

    Speaking of AE's - 3FeetWolf has released a free update so that you can use NGV7 on G8F. He says he is working on a custom G8 version though with cutomer-prompted improvements. Zev0 is also releasing an update for his NGV7 add-on.
