Trouble with hair - help needed !

Hello everyone,

I face two recurring problems with Gen3 hair.

1) In many cases, the skull cap shows as "noise" on renders. I have tried tweaking opacity maps to make sure the unwanted parts are pure black, so opacity 0, to no avail. Any solution would be most welcome !

2) When I try fitting genesis 3 female hair to a genesis 3 male hair (or vice versa), the usual menu "wich figure was this made for" shows, but the list contains genesis 1, M4, V4, M6, V6 and so on, but not the genesis 3 figures. I might add I have no problem with clothes, only hair. Once again, thanks in advance for the advice !
