If you are on Facebook, I'm a huge fan of the Planetary Landscapes page which has lots of NASA imagery

Looks like red snow or frost on the hills.  Skiiing in cinnamon!

Oh, and yes, the candy bar jokes gave me a couple "snickers" too. (*groan*)

What's that little black dot in the middle along the ridge?  A Martian?  If so, it looks like the shape of a Schmoo. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shmoo

    That's a Milky Way :P

Yes, yes...I know. Mars Bars and Milky Ways are reversed in the U.S. and the U.K. for whatever reason. LOL

Nope. Milky Ways doesn't have the toffee or nuts.

Snickers have the nuts ,which used to be a Marathon Bar here in the UK.

Mars is for sissies. I prefer my planets more extreme... like Venus. Rains sulfuric acid, 400+ °C on the surface, 90 times the atmospheric pressure of Earth. No plans for a colony of earthlings there.

...and the ancients considered Venus to be the planet of "love".

Well if you think having your skin boiled off by sulfuric acid rain under 400C temperatures  while being crushed by an atmosphere with the same pressure as one would encounter deep in our oceans, yeah, I guess it is totally lovely.

FWIW, the NASA Curiosity homepage also has a huge collection of Mars photos. Sometimes they're processed as comparison pairs, one showing what the actual camera sees, one colour corrected to match Earth lighting.
