Moving S4 Content from one drive/partition to another

Hi all,

After reading AdamR's tutorial on moving DS4 Content and between computers, it got me to thinking, should I move mine because it has become quite large at 62Gb...phew that's big.

Seem to have collected quite a lot over the years. %-P

I currently run Daz3d Studio Pro 4.5 on an a 27" iMac with OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2, with a 1Tb Startup disk (or C:\ for the PC guys).

I also have an externally attached a 3Tb Firewire 800 drive partitioned into 3 volumes, Backup, Data and Media.

It is the Media volume that I wish to move my content to.

My question is this.

Do I have to copy the database as well as the content (/user/stiks1954/Documents/Daz3d/Studio/My Library.....etc) to the new volume?
Or, will just re-pathing the Content Directories to the trick?
Do I have to stop the Content Manager Service before I do it?

I must confess that I am more than a little nervous, as I have spent may weeks Categorising all my Content and don/t want to lose them. (Even though I have an Exported User Data Backup).

Is there anything I have missed?

Please advise, comment....or laugh. :smirk:

Cheers,

You can leave the database where it is -- Adam's tutorial explains how to change the base paths in the database to the new content location.
