It takes so freakin' long for this stuff to render! Most of it I have for Genesis 1 and 2 . Is there something I can do - settings to change or something - that'll make it render faster?
Thanks!

what do you have your Max Ray Trace set at?
I have it set to 2.
That is actually normal for 3Delight, unfortunately. The problem will occur not only with hairs, but anything that makes significant use of transparency maps - it is those transmaps that slow 3Delight to a crawl. The more transmaps you have, the greater the problem. Here's a short thread that may suggest some possibilities:

Are you using UE lights? These are particularly slow with hair, although normal lights can also be slow. You might be better using AoA's advanced lights where you can set different shadow samples for the hair. These should speed up the render times.
I have it set to 2.
Hi - yes I'm using UberEnvironment2. What's AoA?
AOA="Age of Armor", one of the vendors in the store.
This is the product for all the advanced lights

but this is the one you need to replace the UE2 lights

The advanced lights were a must have for me back in the days I used 3DL, I used them in almost every render.
Try swapping out raytraced shadows for shadow maps, should be a setting on each individual light somewhere.
Apply the 3dl uber surface shader and turn off Occulsion.
Wow! They're part of today's sale - I bought all of them. Thanks!
