DIM does not seem to recognize new install path

So I reinstalled DIM on a new computer, moved over my "My DAZ 3D Library" and " InstallManager/Downloads" and set my downloads and installed paths in DIM settings; however, DIM shows that nothing is installed even after I hit refresh. How can I tell DIM that my content is already installed?

Thanks.

Is there an InstallManager/ManifestFiles folder? That folder contains the information about what is installed.

  • Only a downloads folder. That is strange. I have been working off the same hard drive and all I did was move it to another computer and re-install DIM. Does Daz itself have to be installed?

Yes, you would have those files but on your old HD:

    C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D\InstallManager

unless you already erased old pc hd.

those have to be copied over and then stream edited if you are not using same location. You are still likely to have a few problems though because of CMS dB (as someone that's done it already, had a few problems, and then decided it was fast enough & easy enough to unistall and reinstall it all since I had all the product installers local).

It's really easier and less error prone to just uninstall all your DAZ Content & DAZ SW before moving to a new computer & then copy over the remaining DAZ Content Library (because of all the manually installed Rendo & Freebies stuff) and your Install Manager 'DAZ Products Installer files cache' to your new computer, reinstall DIM on new pc, configure DIM to point at your new locations & then reinstall it all.
