THE EYE'S HAVE IT.......WHERE THE DAZ FIGURES STILL FAIL

So we have decent joints and skin
but the Daz figure including ,V8 continue, to fail in two
major areas in opinion:

Hair and the entire eye structure
have a look at this "average" looking Female model

http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=358&t=1455122

look at the fleshy thickness of the lower eye lids
the wet tear duct in the corners and how the lashes  sprout
from that outER rim of the lower lid
I have yet to see this done correctly in any Daz model.

I know the hair is Autodesk Maya's  XGen hair system
But Daz could do better with eye structure IMHO.

From where I'm sitting, DAZ has done a fantastic job with that, actually

Eyelids are thicker than typical and the eyelash distribution has nothing on DAZ. I do think the tearducts are also a bit to big but the coloring is more accurate. However the proceding might be accurate for that particular person I don't know who she is. The skin color of the girl looks more accurate without that 'DAZ floodlight render style' to make pale people look, well, pale.

Most non-professional level eye shaders don't look so great. The G8/V8 stock shaders make the eyes look too glassy out of the box. Not all eye models/morphs are created equal either. The DAZ figure standard morphs or at least the head morph packages should include iris morphs along with the cornea bulge morph. The eyes are almost always still a give away that an image is CGI rather than real when non-pro people attempt photorealism in cgi.

Yes, I thought the G8 eyes look glassy too. I was very pleased the first time I used the cornea bulge morph on a G3 character. Such a simple thing that made the character look so much more interesting.
