What's the best way of cleaning up my DAZ installation?

Hi.

Other than nuking my current installation and restarting from scratch, how do I safely get rid of items that got installed twice---using DIM and the built-in installer inside DAZ? I've accidentally re-installed several items within the application. So, which one is the recommended way of installing items since using method #1 doesn't allow method #2 see it as installed and vice versa (something abut the Smart Content pane)? Is it possible to set DIM and DAZ to have the same directory?
