is V8, genesis 4? working without any problems in autodesk motionbuilder, without to do tweaks, tweaks and tweaks?

I've expected a genesis that can be exported without problems from daz, straight in the more pro software without to do "any tweaking", like poser have a one click poserfusion for C4d, Maya, Max.

or even think about a Modo version.

Any info available about this?

What I know so far is that G8 is recognized By Iclone 6.5
    an animates perfectly in iclone
however exporting a BVH from Iclone to use in DS will fail
for G8 just as it did for G3.frown

I dont own Motionbulder  but i would imagine any Caveats
that existed for G3  remain unchanged for G8.

Also there is a report, in one of the thread in the commons,
that G8 imports to poser 11  using the Willdial hack
with the same basic reliability as G3.

    hope this helps.

See the bottom of the change log:  http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/change_log#private_channel

Working on fixing BVH for Genesis 3 & 8.

thx, 've readed those here so far, i wonder when daz get all those bvh problems solved and it would be a piece of cake to export and import the figures back into studio without any problems.
ah we will see, keep the wallet closed so far a little longer.

In case it isn't clear, Genesis 8 IS Genesis 4 (renamed), they just decided to go with Genesis 8 as the new name, so that the 'sub figure' numerology (Aiko, Vic, etc.) would match the Genesis numbering.  I concur that this is a good move/will reduce confusion for future generations.

So it's likely we won't have Genesis 4-7, I think that'd be a fair assumption.  They could rename Genesis 3 as Genesis 7, to match the 7th gen figures it is the baseline for, but that would just be even more confusing...

maybe Genesis 1 could be renamed Genesis 1(5), Genesis 2 could be 2(6) and Genesis 3 could be 3(7), or some similar nomenclature, but most people that are working with the older figures have already kind of figured this out.

So yeah, I expect we will have ongoing questions about what happened with Genesis 4, 5, 6, and 7...

This is kind of like why they don't have F-13's in the US Air Force or Navy (i.e. anything between the F-8 Crusader and the F-14 Tomcat).  There may have been test/prototype aircraft assigned to 9-13, but these were never formally added to the USAF/USN inventory as production models.  At least not that we know about - some super secret spy plane might have one of these numbers, although the public would probably have an inkling at least, thanks to those that 'follow' black programs.

I was a fan of the YF-17 (it had two engines vs. the F-16's single engine, and is basically a lightweight/scaled down FA-18), and YF-23 models myself.  Both lost out in their associated design competitions, and only a couple of these were built.  The YF-23 was really cool looking IMHO.

The X-29 with it's forward swept wings (which would likely have been the F-29 if it had made it past testing) is really cool as aircraft go, but a little too bleeding edge for it's time.  NASA loved taking it for test drives, though, and I loved that design.  Extreme maneuverability with a pilot onboard has it's (human) limits, and there are other ways to counter incoming enemy missiles.  And (sarcasm) NOBODY shoots guns on aircraft anymore, right? (/sarcasm)  Which is why they had to retrofit the F-4 with a gun pod after that theory was proven false...  But I digress...

So yeah, Genesis 4 is a super secret Daz Black Ops model.  You heard it here first!

    laugh

And of course, in homage to Ricardo Montalban taunting Kirk upon acquiring Genesis...

    KHAAAAAAAAAAAAN!

I failed to mention/didn't know about the US Navy's Grumman F-11 Tiger fighters, which were in operation in the 1950's and 1960's.  There were also earlier fighters that used the FxF, FxU, etc. designations, (WWII F4U Corsair, F9F Panther, etc., but the numbers were 'reset' in the 1950's, except for the 'Century' fighters of course...

Also, I should mention the fastest fighter (at the tine, maybe even today) that wasn't deployed in large numbers, That being the YF-12 (3 were built), based on the SR-71 design, and of course the SR-71 (being a reconnaisance craft) has a long deployment history.

This is not really related to this thread, but I like to have my facts in order.  Reading all about the F-11 Tiger now.  Being a bit of an aviation buff, I'm kind of shocked that this design isnt' in my brain already, seeing that I have a pretty extensive passing knowledge of WWII and jet age fighters, at least as far as the US is concerned, as well as a few from other countries (Viggens are awesome, with their deployment capabilities and cool design, Gripens are also kickass, Drakens look cool, go Swedes!).  The fact that the Blue Angels flew Tigers for a bit is interesting.  As they say, you learn something new every day!
