It seems this would have been better as
a puppteer option so that one could at least
    record the expressions for animation
like the Iclone face puppet panel that Daz
    is trying emulate with this.

I thought the same thing when  saw the video, I love how this works in Iclone

I've found the powerpose templates, but there are NO control points. I've uninstalled and re-installed powerpose, what give?

    Are you selecting G8 first?

Yes!  And now I've filed a ticket with the help desk.

PowerPose is considerably older than iClone.

Are you using the latest version of DS (4.9.4.117)?

I'm having a similar problem: I don't have the PowerPose templates and they don't appear in Daz Connect nor in DIM. I have refreshed DIM, logged off and back on, and generally shouted at it until it should do what I want. I can see the templates in my product library (even if DIM and Connect can't) and have downloaded the zip manually, but it's unclear to me where to put them. They aren't really part of a runtime and I have been trying to move to using Connect for as much as I can, so I don't want to touch anything in there and anger the DRM demons. Any advice?

Edit: I tried places until I got it working, but I don't know that it's there in a way that will survive updates and so on. Still, I can use it now and I really like it!

I don't see ANY folder listed as "tools" in my DAZ 3D Library.

It's a lot of fun! All those facial bones are finally easily usable! I hope a similar template for G3 appears soon.

They aren't user-facing files.  If it doesn't show up in DIM, you can drop the zip from your Product Library into DIM's downloads folder, then refresh and DIM can install it.

Is it actually under the name "Powerpose"?  Because I don't have that in my product library, either.

WHERE DID YOU FIND IT?  It's not in DIM or Product Library, and I'm tearing my hair out trying to find it!

Check the DIM INSTALLED files a lot of folks just checked it in a long list of updates and purchases over the last couple of days and did not realize they have it installed already. ===> PowerPose Templates

You also must be running the latest version of DS.

In DS software it is a plugin and has been ther before now so for sure you at tleast the oldder version.

Window > Panes (Tabs) > PowerPose

Load a G8 figure and with it selected click the head in PowerPose. If you see 4-6 dots/circles you still only have the odler version running.

I don't see ANY dots.  I see concentric circles over on the left, but no dots on the face. Please, tell me how to get the current version of powerpose?

  • colinmac2colinmac2 Posts: 407

SOLVED. I FOUND IT!  Dots all over the face, check.  It was under Window > panes> tab

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH, THIS WAS DRIVING ME CRAZY!

Is there a way to apply symmetry to the face bone controls? Tried different settings but can't get it to work.

OK, found a way, but only after posing one side and then applying symmetry. I was thinking of real-time symmetry, shouldn't be to difficult to program if there currently is no option for this?

Ok, with some trepedastion  I updated DS to the latest version (4.9.4.117) so I could take advantage of V8. Then I installed both Genesis 8 starter essentials and the Genesis 8 PowerPose templates; also genesis 8 head morphs and body morphs. I opened V8 and the powerpose panel. I could get the body and hands power poses to work just fine; but moving the dots on the head does not result in any change (for example I couldn't open the mouth). Is anybody else having this problem or am I doing sowething wrong?

Oops, I started another thread before I saw this one. I can see the Genesis 8 head power pose dots but I can't get them to do anything when I move them. For example I can't get the mouth to open. The head and hand powerpse dots seem to work OK. I am using DS4.9.4.117 and have tried unistalling and reinstalling the power pose templates, but no luck. Any suggestions?

I actually had no problem with it, have you checked with both muse buttons? Each one is mapped to a different property (not trying to be condescending, just the only thing I can think about).

    Threads merged.

I'm not sure what I did wrong the first time but when I went back and tried again it was working. Problem solved smileyThanks

Another question: Is it possible to group the power pose pane so that it show up as a tab along with the puppeter, shaping, and parameters tabs when I go to posing/shaping from the toolbar?

Right click on the background of the tab group > Add Pane (Tab) from context menu.

Maybe someone else found it already. But none the less: I was wondering where to find the G8F Templates and how to make them work. I found, that DIM installs in the data section of the default library. I have a seperate base directory for all the G8F stuff. That's why it did not work! You need to copy the data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 8/Female /tools to your extra directory - et voila everything works. Maybe that helps. WOW I'm a member since 2003 and this is my first post ; |
