Iray-2delight - skydomes, clouds content for export

I was looking at this and couple other content items where I need some ominous weather for use in a video.

There is so much emphasis on IRAY and 3Delight I find confusing.

I produce video in Iclone, so I am exporting all content I buy from Daz3d or Carrara in IClone.

Exporting does not seem to be a problem, as 3dxchange does that well enough.

My concern is with the render bit.  Is there something I should be concerned about?

Is there one I should prefer over the other?

Iclone render engine is built in and there is ancillary render engine "Indigo".

I was thinking the choice between IRay and 3DL was probably a ligthing thing that can be resolved within Iclone. That it really isn't that big a deal for what I am doing, but would be making static single images with Daz3d

    I doubt either DS renderer products will work as is in Iclone or Indigo. Indogo is very similar to IRAY since it is an unbiased renderer. If there is a way to plug in an HDRI file in the lighting system, then you can use any HDRI product for Iray, you'll just have to manually find it and plug it in.
