Overcharged/ Cart Checkout Error/ Confirm your price before paying!!!

Heads up when making purchases to double check your cart price and the price at every step of the check out process (esp. with Pay Pal) because there is some problem along the line where if you are getting a sale price, sometimes it will get removed by mistake and charge you full price if you're not paying attention.

I just purchased some items on sale (And they are still on sale I did not miss the sale) and the cart said it was $93.79 (65%off) but I started going through the checkout not fully paying attention and to my dismay I found out afterward I was charged the full price of $273.45!!! WTF!!!!

It's been a while since I bought from DAZ but this issue quickly reminded of the past problems with their cart checkout.

I then recalled this happened to me before a while back, (Several times in fact) I vaguely remember loading up on expensive70% off items and when I went to make the final payment it said the total was somewhere around $900.00 instead of the 70% off which would have wiped me out financially!

But luckily I caught in time, back tracked and started the check out process over again, then finally the cart checkout applied the discount...beware!!!...Please fix this!

This happened to me about a week ago and I noticed just as I was clicking the button. But I was charged the sale price, not the magical price on the last page of the checkout.

I reported it. They just said it seems to be a glitch, but I wasn't charged the higher price so no harm no foul.

It's happened before (but very rarely--I get something here almost every day) and what I do is exit the cart and start over or sometimes just go back to the previous page and it fixes itself. It's just that one time I only noticed just as I clicked.

Yeah it used to happen to me quite a number of times in the past  because I used to be a frequent buyer so I was always on the watch for it.

It's been a while  since I bought anything, but recently I started buying regularly again. I had forgotten about this glitch, I just figured it had been fixed, but it reminded real quick that it wasn't by wiping out my bank account!

I sent in a ticket hopefully they will refund me the difference.

I'm pretty sure you'll get the refund. Daz is pretty good at solving issues like this.

What I do to avoid overcharging, is see how much the items I want will cost, then get a giftcard for that amount, and pay using store credit. You can't get overcharged that way.

That's a good idea, I'll have to consider doing that.

One thing to keep in mind.  If you live in a state that is forcing Daz3D to collect sales tax (Texas for example) your total at checkout will not reflect the sales tax.  It will show your before tax total then the tax on the next line, but it will never show your the total with tax until you look at your email invoice.

Good to know, I live out of their states business location so no tax for me.

Unfortunately for peeps who live in Texas...  They strong armed Daz several years ago by threatening legal action claiming that all e-comerce to people who live in texas is required to collect texas sales tax, even if the company has no retail presence in the state. (Daz is based in Utah)

That's a surprise. I figured since they sell digital content (not physical products) there would be no tax, I guess that only applies to certain states.

Texas does not charge state income tax, so they get their money from you everywhere they can.

Unless you don't mind emptying your entire cart just to buy that single gift card and then re-adding each item one by one (and hope the prices don't change in the meanwhile).

Yeah those sale prices change erratically. Once you see them you have to jump on them quick or lose out. Too bad they don't ever list the sale end date on items, it would be helpful in budgeting your buys instead of this hap hazard grab it or lose it way of selling.

This has happened to me twice since February for hundreds and hundreds of dollars. For me when it happens I am at checkout and the correct sale prices are there but then after the buy button is clicked & submitted it gets changed to no sales price and I don't notice until I look at the emailed receipt afterwards. i've gotten so that I check the receipt in my DAZ Account on their website too.

I just file a ticket & within 5 business days the overcharge is refunded. However it is very stressful because i'm not one of these people with excess thousands protecting against bank account overdrafts in my account. Luckily the DAZ overcharges haven't caused that for me in those two cases.

Yes it is unnecessarily stressful and irritating. I believe the error is happening after the "proceed to checkout" screen. They give you total at the bottom of that screen but sometimes I don't bother to check because my cart shows the correct price and I just assume everything's ok and proceed to pay.

Thankfully DAZ support refunded me the difference, but unfortunately now I have to wait while the money is tied up in the refund process. Ugh...
