Quirky results when autofitting Lucia Gown to G2F

Obviously there are going to be complications when trying to fit an older clothing item onto a newer figure. I'm looking for tips on how to deal with this.

I've autofit Lucia Gown for V4 onto G2F (GenX'd from V4, if that matters). There are some strange bumps near the hem of the dress, and I don't even know what the heck is going on with the lace around her shoulders. I think she's trying to sprout wings and fly away.

With long skirts/dresses, you'll often get that happening at the bottom of the dress with autofit. Sickleyield has a couple of products that are templates - where you can choose long dress, loincloth etc that might help. Also, the Wear Them All products in the store help a bit. 

With the top of the dress...you're guess is a good as mine. LOL. I've had that on some older products (particularly V3 stuff) with parts ot outfit completley break away. I think its a limitation to how the original outfit was made, but not sure.

The veil could be a collision problem if it has a Smoothing Modifier on.

Thanks for these product suggestions; I'll go take a look. I've heard plenty about Wear Them All but thought it was for Genesis 3 only.

I deleted the veil, the bodysuit and even the hair in case one of those might be causing the problem. Alas, my bride still has winglets. lol

The Wear Them Alls are mainly for fitting older stuff onto Genesis 3, yes. There are two that fit G3 clothing onto Genesis 2 female and Genesis 2 male tho. But yeah, I've only just noticed you are using G2F, sorry! Thought that was G3. 

It seems to be the lace around the neckline that is the problem....you could possibly make it invisible in the surface tab but then if you really want the lace look, that's no good. I don't have that actual dress unfortunately to fiddle and see if anything helps. I just know that long dresses can often be a problem :(

Since nothing else has worked, I went with the last-resort solution that I've been avoiding because I hate to introduce more polygons into the scene. I set the neckline ruffle Cutout Opacity to 0 (which, I discovered, also makes the hem and sleeve ruffles disappear, but who cares they were ugly) and loaded a second Lucia Gown into the scene. Using a combination of Cutout Opacity and eye closing, I made everything except the neckline ruffle on Lucia Gown #2 invisible, angled the ruffle over Lucia Gown #1 like so, and parented the ruffle to G2F's chest. It stays put surprisingly well with different poses. Still, if someone has a better idea that doesn't involve two dresses, I'm all ears!

The bumpy hem remains a problem. I'm not too concerned about it though because most of the shots will be waist level anyway. I own the VWD dynamic cloth plugin but haven't used it yet. I wonder if it would help at all.

Here are a couple new renders. Besides some minor pokethrough and that stupid rubbery look that 3delight clothes get in Iray, I think I'm off to a good start!
