Don't know if anyone else has this product but here is the issue in close up (the ties):

It doesn't do that for me. What version of DS4.5 are you using, and what OS?

You may need to reset your download for this item to make sure that you get the latest version

    Just bought it today.

    Windows 7 64 bit. DAZ Studio 4.5.1.49 64 bit

I have the Young Teen character loaded. It doesn't have the problem with the Genesis basic woman shape.

I tried again with basic genesis (OK) and with the Julie shape dialled in - this again has the issue.

Yes I know what it is basically if it has nonstandard bones on the clothing you have to do a bones shape morph for each shape you support this keeps them in the right position, So the shape you're dialing mustn't be supported so stick to the ones that are and you'll be fine !

Kinda destroys the claim that all Genesis clothing fits all Genesis characters though, doesn't it?

As far as I know, YT Julie is a DAZ product - not some unsupported 3rd. Party item.

Sorry I didn't realize that my mistake!

The problem is that although the Fantasy Wrap has only now been released for purchase on its own, it was actually converted long ago (I think the bundle was October 2011), before there was a set of young teens. Clothing will follow OK where the bones match, but custom bones need their own set up as said.

Forgive my ignorance but do I need to figure out how to fix it myself or will there be an update forthcoming?

I am intending to learn about rigging, etc. (bought the manuals last week) but I'm not sure I should have to for a product advertised as a Genesis version.

It is, technically, a Genesis version. However, YT is an add on released recently, while the Fantasy cloth was rigged and modified for Genesis (from the original V4 version) over a year ago.

Consider the morphs for V4 or M4 like the Elite morphs. Some products that were released prior to those morphs also had fitting issues, even though the clothes were built for V4 and M4 default shapes. The clothes still fit and conformed, but not perfectly since, again, the clothes were designed with the default shapes in mind. Some dial adjusting in the parameters tab might work, or some tweaking in hexagon or a similar program.

However, you can return it and DAZ will refund the payment if it doesn't work out for what you need. I hope you can find a workaround, though. It's a versatile clothing piece for female fantasy renders.

I just spent longer than I expected taking screenshots showing how to deal with this sort of thing. I'm being taken out for a birthday dinner tomorrow so I don't know when I will get the tutorial up, but I think the resultant morph will fix the wrap for Julie http://www.4shared.com/zip/CqMc79RS/YTFitforFanWrap.html (registration needed). Updated to add morph for Justin

Thank you for your time and efforts, Richard. I have downloaded the zip and will install it when I move it to my desktop PC.

I'm looking forward to the tutorial you are working on.

    Enjoy your birthday dinner.

Sorry for the necro-post, but was there ever an actual fix made for this? (And btw, I went to the link above and my malware detectors all went off like crazy.)

The file has probably gone from 4Shared anyway. I think this should be the same zip https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8nfcndyhn24mz0h/AAB72Uo_Q3pf-iiUuHGm5xBca?dl=0 - II don't know if the store item was updated or not.

I'm surprised, I thought they had a policy of deleting things after 90 days or so unvisited (by the owner) and I haven't been for ages.

Yeah...me, too. But it was there...I hadn't been there in ages, either, but when I downloaded it, yesterday, I was logged in...so they must have changed something.

  • I picked up the Fantasy Wrap for Genesis with the recent Day-#-Bonus freebies thing and while I can't tell if it had the same problem as the Marble had (because I can't see any picture of the original problem), when I use the Genesis to Genesis 2 Female autofit the ties jut out at 45 degree angles and can't be controlled. I took a look at the bones and the tie wrap bones are gone after the conversion/autofitting process (the bones labelled Front and Back are missing as well). This sounds to me like the problem being discussed in this post, but since this isn't for the Young Teen characters, it doesn't sound like the fix for them will work here.

Is this the same problem, and if so, is there an easy fix to this? If not, is there a hard fix? I can stick to using it on just Genesis characters, but I'd love it if I could use it on my Genesis 2 line.

  • No, this is because AutoFit does not preserve custom bones but projects the standard rig of the new wearer. I believe SickleYield has a tutorial on her Deviant Art pages that will help with this, otherwise you would need to recreate the bones for the ties and weight-map them..

Yeah, in cases like that, it's better to use the Transfer Utility. I also vouch for SickleYield's tutorials. She's pretty savvy with that tool. :)
