Image laying wrong on surfaces. HELP!

Hi, 

Sometimes when I add an image to a surface it lays in the wrong direction. I have fixed this in the past by using GIMP to rotate the image but rotating does not fix this. 

I am at a loss for ideas on how to fix this, so PLEASE HELP!!!

That looks like there is an issue with the uv mapping on the object.  You will need to reasign the texture coordinates.
