I've actually never seen a James Bond movie that I remember but of course I know who Roger Moore is, to me he is James Bond of the movies although I know people older than me and young than me have other notions of who James Bond of the movies is.
Condolences to his family, friends, neighbors, and fans.
Another icon of my childhood passes. Not the best Bond by a long shot (but that may have been down to the not-the-best films ...) and like Chohole recall him better in The Persuaders and The Saint.
Roger was an enthusiastic actor but quite different than Bond in person. He had a lot of flair with the guts to do the outragous. Friends and family know this in not an insult but a testiment to his witty personna.
I read that Roger was Ian Fleming's first choice for Bond, but wasn't available because of his role on The Saint. He was certainly one of my favorite actors.
May he rest in peace, and may his family find comfort in their love and memories of the man.
I think he was the first actor I saw as Bond (TNT broadcast of Spy Who Loved Man. Dad channel surfed in during the submarine car sequence), although my parents' love for Sean Connery meant that I saw some of his more G-rated movies (Darby O'Gill, Wind and the Lion, etc) before I ever saw Connery's 007.
I like most of the Bonds (find Lazenby boring and feel that Craig's take on the character, although a legit "realistic" take on Bond, to not be terribly fun to watch), and would rank Roger Moore as my second favorite. I also enjoyed him in Ffolkes, and what little I saw of the Persuaders and the Saint. From what little I know of him offscreen, he seemed like a good-hearted person who would be fun to hang out with. RIP to yet another icon.

I remember him more as the Saint, or as Brett Sinclair in the Persuaders (with Tony Curtis)
My favourite Bond.
like chohole, I Remember him as the the Saint and Ivanhoe, as well as being in the Persuaders.

R.I.P. Roger. Thanks for all great movie moments!

Saint and Bond. A very classy portrayal of any character he chose to portray. Thinking about his family, glad they got to know him for 89 years.
RIP. A sad day indeed. I loved him as Bond.
:( My first Bond. I know there were two before him, but Moore was the first Bond I saw in theaters (Moonraker. Yes, I was like 8.)
Rest in Peace.
He was my favorite Bond as well. :(
He was also a real gentleman...

Persuaders is still popular here, the series is being repeated at regular intervals on our main TV channel.
Same for me. First Bond - Moonraker (not the best Bond film, but still holds a place in my heart).
He also was a fun Chief in the Spice World movie (one of those 'silly' films he did).
Roger Moore had style, wit and panache. He will be missed.
Alex.
My least favorite Bond, but I loved him in the Saint. R.I.P.

...same here. Loved that Volvo P-1800 he drove. Always wanted one in the same colour with the vanity plate "ST 1"
